The article never truly specified where the homage happened in Gaga's point of career anyway so I think it was rather unnecessary bringing that part into light

mentioning madonna was unnecessary in itself. critics should not be... what's the word? reductive. it's 2016, ffs.

Although I agree with her vision and the direction she's taking, I'm still underwhelmed by the promotion she and her team are doing. If anyone can bring back rock, it'll be Gaga but she has to understand that people won't be open to it. Like what the article said, PI music and visuals dwell in a genre that has been quite underground this past decade. We need more than interviews and a non-theatrical video for the masses to embrace it. Why not promote it Gagz? Why not perform it? Please don't pay this song dust. I love this song and it has HUGE potential but potential can only go so far. I already know that Joanne will be a masterpiece but how can a masterpiece be appreciated if it's not viewed? PROMOTE GAGA

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I cant with all you ultra debbie ****ing downers. Just because it isnt 100% praise doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

She wanted organic, critics take note of her being organic.

She stripped down her campiness, critics take note.

She showcased raw vocals and emotion, critics observed such.

She has them where she wants them. Her vision and goal is reaffirmed by these articles. They may not agree completely with her choice or direction--but one thing is for sure, they can't help but notice the message she is trying to send across

I love how when she debuted there wasn't much in the way of electronic music in the charts, now the charts are full of it and she's doing a more instrumental album. She never follows trends :golfclap: Who knows if this album is successful we could see more of the 'pop girls' encouraged to make more rock tinged albums!

Yes.  And it's problematic in that it reminds people of the accusations that Gaga copied Madonna.  People remember the sensational moments.  People believe accusations even it they aren't true.

That said, I don't consider that critic to be a hater, the comment was just unfortunate.

I live outside the space time continuum.
