Back to the 70's

I think (hope) that Joanne is going to channel the 70's. Not musically, but from a songwriting perspective. The 70s were a great time for high quality songwriters in pop music.  Carole King, Elton with Bernie Taupin, Jim Steinman with Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Queen, many others. Many of those we consider as legendary songwriters were active and pop radio was full of their music. Lyrics that held meaning, created emotion, and told stories.

I think this is probably the quality Gaga is looking for in this release.  Ronson is probably a good influence as Amy was a true bright spot of songwriting in the modern era.

PI may have been seen as a good bridge between what might be palatable to existing audiences vs some of the other tracks. We'll see when its released but  I'm excited to see what Joanne holds for us.

I'd be 100% here for a seventies themed era in total. The simpler but resounding songwriting, the genres of music (from disco to country) and the fashion. I think that would be a truly great era to watch from Gaga.

Bye, I hate when people act like music was only real in the past + current music is garbage

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I'd love that...and from a musical standpoint as well! I see nothing wrong with a simple, smart, stripped back production, that makes room for the lyrics and for the emotional content of a song to be appreciated...

However, I'm pretty sure that's not what we're getting...:poot:

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

I really hope it is holding RedOne's song very thigh and Gaga can't obliterate it :awkney:

"The 70s were a great time for high quality songwriters in pop music"

"Lyrics that held meaning, created emotion, and told stories."

"were a great time" not "were THE ONLY time"
