Beyoncé was there 12 times, but yes keep the list short, because it looks better for Gaga.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Please everyone, send this to anyone that calls PI a flop and hates Gaga because she hasn't debuted at #1. Actually not even half of those reached top 10

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

So Ariana is one of 3 female artists to get a top 10 debut this year? In a year where most of the main pop girls released, that's pretty impressive.

:applause:

15 is truly not a flop, as long as it's the start of a good run.  Truly too early to tell.

Unless she does something drastic, it won't be. Then again, she is debuting the m/v on Scream Queens, so maybe she'll do more promo and that indie stuff was bullshit.

And these positions negate two arguments:

A) She "only" debuted at #15 because of comeback hype, and

B) Anything less than #1 debut means this is its peak.

With respect to the former, as we can see, PI debuted higher than Fergie's, Gwen's and Britney's first releases after a long hiatus (and Britney released an extremely good/radio friendly single--I'm surprised it didn't debut higher). Fergie's single was accompanied by a star-studded/viral music video, while Gwen has been very much in the public eye due to "The Voice" gig, her divorce and her Blake Shelton romance.

Ariana's #10 debut is following an extremely successful era (and also, I believe, well deserved--I love "Dangerous Woman!"), while Beyonce's was accompanied by a music video/surprise visual album the same day of release (and a political Super Bowl halftime performance of the same song one month prior).

With respect to the latter, "Work" ended up climbing to #1 and remained there for many weeks (even though a lot of the GP reception was, initially, very lackluster). Although not listed here, Sia's "Cheap Thrills" debuted somewhere in the 70's on the BBH100, and took SIX MONTHS to climb to #1.

And no one else even debuted inside the top 10. Katy's debut was surprisingly low--I know this was a single for the Olympics; nevertheless, it had an official music video and was the first new music from KP following the absolutely massive commercial success of "Prism."

I think everyone is seriously overreacting, and should wait for PI's music video and televised performances before making any definitive statements regarding chart/commercial performance.

When doing this by the time the song debuted on the hot 100, Kelly Clarkson holds the record for highest debut, right?

Chill out, Gaga has only released 1 song so far this year, so I don't think there term for comparisson yet.

Why was Katy's prism considered a massive commercial success? Wasn't it pretty comparable to ARTPOP?

I don't know how many albums it sold, honestly, I just recall Roar and Dark Horse were EVERYWHERE. I was speaking of the era as a whole, but feel free to correct me if my information is inaccurate :)
