I don't know why people are so hung up on her writing. People were flipping sh*t over her writing over instrumentals on ARTPOP but she done the same on The Fame (Eh, Eh definitely and probably The Fame, I Like It Rough and Starstruck), Born This Way (Government Hooker) and I suspect The Fame Monster had the same although I don't think anything was confirmed or rumoured.

I trusted and believed Gaga when she said she wrote her own music. 

I also remember an interview about 2012 I think. Where she said she's pissed off when her label, sends her songs written by other people because she only wants her music to be written by her.

But now we find out she doesn't write it herself. 

So what is the truth? Was Linda Perry correct in calling Gaga out for trying to take credit for TIHTY?

She writes most of her songs on her piano, and co-writes some of them, if she's enthusiastic about a track presented to her (ex: Aura, Til It Happens To You). She's also involved in the producing process, she even produced Venus all on her own.

Now in this precise case, it seems like they had a basis which they worked on, all together. Meaning she was a co-writer.

It's always been this way. You're really clutching at straws if you feel "betrayed" in any way. Or you're just being a hot mess and need some fresh air. Get out!

I think she didn't contribute a lot for the song in terms of lyrics/melody. And I think she's ok with it, because this is kind of "Mark's album" and PI is "enough" for lead single. There will be plenty of other songs (probably more personal) mainly written by Gaga. After all, she always said she's a songwriter first and this is her most autobiographical record.

There is no need to be rude. I used to be like you up until the ARTPOP era. You shouldn't be so naive to blindly follow someone and lap up everything they say like the sun shines out of her butt. 

I adore Gaga but I know how showbiz works and I don't just accept everything she says because she's "God-ga". I think it's normal and healthy to be cynical sometimes and not a complete sheep. I have been given enough reason to doubt her songwriting skills or lack thereof, so why can't I question the validity of it?

There is a GIANT difference between being given a premade song by your label to put your vocals on and writing a song together with a bunch of your friends/producers as if you were bandmates jamming out.

So you prefer to be delusional and believe this has always been how she did her music? 

If you "know how showbiz works". Then don't go believe it's a 'pure' business. People like her, are constantly changing in order to stay interested. So where she was -1 year ago, is not where she is now.

No artist who get to icon level survives without sacrificing some of their craft. Honestly, we don't know what Gaga has been doing behind the scenes for 3 years.
