There is no need to be rude. I used to be like you up until the ARTPOP era. You shouldn't be so naive to blindly follow someone and lap up everything they say like the sun shines out of her butt.

I adore Gaga but I know how showbiz works and I don't just accept everything she says because she's "God-ga". I think it's normal and healthy to be cynical sometimes and not a complete sheep. I have been given enough reason to doubt her songwriting skills or lack thereof, so why can't I question the validity of it?

You're talking so much BS, how can you expect people NOT to be rude with you???

You're imagining things out of your arse, questioning all of Gaga's writing skills based on one collaboration (where we have enough proofs she definitely contributed to the writing process and re-working of the song!!).

I mean, you're just out of your mind. Or a troll.

Either way, you deserve nothing but disrespect for being so full of sh1t. :toofunny:

She is so funny in these interviews. She talks as though Perfect Illusion is a total, unprecedented masterpiece :toofunny:

Honestly this is so true. Like, I'm no PI hater. But Gaga is talking as if PI has already been hailed as an iconic song. Frankly, I'm surprised that all four of them worked on the song together and it came out as short and simple as it did. Also, the instrumental itself seems very basic to me. I wonder why there is so much focus on PI being this amazing collaborative process, when the song is predominantly Gaga's vocals, with the production being quite underwhelming and simple.

The song should've been an album track, tbh.

She always talks like that about all her songs though. She is just very passionate and involved in the creative process.

I'm very disappointed because she's literally saying that she didn't write this song :lana:  The fact that she's singing someone else's words as her own song is against everything she stands for as an artist and musician :saladga: I'm sorry, I hope I just misunderstood this...  anigif_sub-buzz-19832-1471982281-6.gif

Edit: I didn't mean that ''her whole career has been a lie'' or that ''she's exposed now'', I was only talking about this certain song. I'm not judging her whole career or even the album (which we haven't heard yet), I'm just confused about the way this song was made. I still believe in her writing skills and musical talent :unicorn: I'm pretty sure the album will have some songs written only by her, she calls this album very personal anyway. Speechless and You & I are lyrically some of her best songs and I think she was the only writer in those

Whether she wrote the song or not is irrelevant to me however I'm more confused how it took 4 musical geniuses to create Perfect Illusion. The song isn't really filled with depth or great lyricism and the instrumental seemed largely complete for the most part prior so I'm confused how there was such a 'creative process'. It's a brilliant track but hardly a complex arrangement.

She loves her music, you guys. I don't think 'Perfect Illusion' is anything stand-out/brilliant but I do like it.

There's nothing wrong with her not having written the song from scratch. There's nothing cheap about the way the song came to it's completion; it's not like she bought it off someone/was given the song. Some of the lyrics are hers. (In any case, the lyrics are really uninspiring so... I'm not surprised she didn't write majority of it)

The only reason I'm a fan is because I thought  she was behind her pen. I love musician not clowns  masquerading as something they're not. She been saying she write her songs all these years and that was a lie

I'm very confused about where people are getting the idea that she doesn't write her music? What she's described in this video is a creative process in which people are actively making something together. She blatantly says that what Kevin brought into the studio is NOT the final product, so that rules out him writing it instead of Gaga. She then goes on to say that they all worked on restructuring the song, saying the melody changed, the lyrics changed, the concept changed...she was just riffing off of an IDEA that Kevin brought in and they all COLLABORATED to make the song. I don't know how you guys could even doubt that she writes her music. Look back at her SGB demos. Look at the early Gaga demos. Listen to how those have evolved, yet her musical and lyrical voice remains consistent with music she's always loved...

You don't have to write something from thin air for it to be 'original'. That's not how anything works. Many artists, whether they be musicians, poets, authors, sculptors or painters have collaborated with other artists or created something in response to other works of art.

Mark produces the whole album worries me

No wonder it doesn't sound like her previous works. It was Kevin idea in the first place. I didn't say she didn't write it. I get the feeling PI revolves around Kevin's idea. That's probably why it sounds so different because it wasn't her original idea.

If an artist writes their own music or not, doesn't really concern me too much. With Gaga, though, it has become something I expect of her, her trademark always was, that she writes her own songs, and then works with producers to further develop the lyrics and melodies, and create an instrumental with them. But this time around she just took a finished song that this Kevin guy wrote and slightly re-worked it with 150 kabillion people helping her. I mean, she can do what she wants, but maybe that's why Perfect Illusion feels so empty and mediocre. Why this new approach suddenly? Doesn't she believe in her abilities as a song writer anymore?

I dunno why, but at the moment I just can't with Gaga...

Collaboration (you know, actual collaboration- not just letting someone sing on the track that your 20 producers cooked up in a room) is common in the creative field, in case some of you fetuses didn't know.

That being said... I have a big feeling that Kevin's "Illusion" was way better and they just butchered it :smh:

It amazes me how she did like 18 interviews and managed to say the same thing word by word. Looks like she rehearsed Interviews.

Queen of consistency.
