Interscope treating Joanne as a "debut indie record" - dont expect big hits

I am personally disappointed by how "free spirit" Gaga is that she's starting to not promote herself properly and care about making great quality content. Her album cover could've had the same intended message but carried out much more visually stunning with more production value or style. But she just hired someone to shoot her in front of a blue wall with basic light and editing  

 Or her music video that could have more of a strong statement instead of being just her "performing" the song on a stage? Since the song has more deep meaning. Assuming that based on what we know.

Or how "loose" and "laid back" she has become that is negatively impacting her image and appeal. She's now TOOOO independent and carefree I feel. Personally.

Like Perfect Illusion offered nothing new...when I compared it to every song she has done, say from ARTPOP down, I keep finding myself saying each ARTPOP songs and Born this way songs are better. So what does that mean if she can't offer a fresher nicer sound from previous work? IMO

What does indie even mean? I love Perfect Illusion so much. Helps me deal with all the **** my ex-bf left for me to process. I can just escape in this song. (Yeah, I'm playing it right now!) ♥

ermm... so are you saying PI isn't fresh compared to the past stuff? at the same time as you said you don't like the CHANGE she's experimenting? quite a contradiciton

Better then constantly fighting in the top 40 where she is constantly trashed. She does not belong with artists like Katy, Ariana, Selena, Demi, Britney. She has more talent in her small finger than all those put together.

Do people not realize what a broad, diverse genre indie is? It could mean a million different sounds including what is basically pop. I just hope she doesn't dub herself "indie" because that will induce harsh criticism and eyerolls.

Also people are so worried about her possible lack of promotion and performances.. do you not remember how often Gaga and her team change their minds?

I'm not worried about bit. Just let the woman do her thing and deliver. We've only heard one song, which allegedly isn't even indicative of the overall sound of the album.
