Perfect Illusion Debuts at #12 in UK

Such a poor pick for a first single, after three years. I knew it when I first heard it. And I waited hours by the radio, and downloaded iheartradio just to hear it. After first listen I thought, this has to be a joke right? Sh worked with brilliant producers and this is what she came up with? I know the rest of the album will be good. They made a bad decision with first single, but the album cover, and her style so far of been on point. We will see.

Let's not pretend that this single even remotely sounds like 2016 hit material. For it to smash, there has to have a lot of promo. Too bad Gaga doesn't seem like the type who goes for the bling anymore.

What has the media said? I thought she got good reviews?

They are starting to report PI as disappointing, flop etc. eventhough it really isn't quite yet. The problem is that once Media stars The flop talk, it will snowball... And that is what will make it flop.

But its not very bad yet. Things can turn around. And despite what some cult members say, I do hope all The best for The album/era even IF PI as a song is not my thing.

I like it but (and don't attack me guys, it's just my opinion) it's an album track for me. Lead single after 3 years away? No.

More people will realize this once the hype fades away. :smh:

It's a great song but that's as far as it gets. :smh: And the video doesn't look extremely promising as in "it will turn around everything" either. :smh:

it wasn't laaaahv

Swan Heart

That's nice.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

It may have a second wave after televised performances.  We will see if she bothers as she may just go onto the next single and/or just album promo

I think that for a song like this (A quality song and not exactly "Barbie Girl") with no TV promo, A bunch of interviews on the radio, no video and no Buzz at all (as Gaga clearly planned),  being in the top 15 in Uk and Australia, having peaked the 1 position in some of the major EU Countries and the Top 5 elsewhere, it is not bad at all.

She wants to start a new chapter in her Career, completely different from the past, and she chose to do it with a song that is clearly not conceived for climbing the chart nor being a Smash Hit.

Keep on finding it "Tragic" basing on the sales of her former Pop Anthems is being in pure denial.

Lady Gaga is the QUEEN. She's not a damn underground indie artist. She needs to be #1 or it doesn't count!

Us monsters need to take matters into our own hands.

wow I hope you guys aren't actually as upset as you claim to be. This is her career not yours. Its a number  and she is a legend. End of discussion. Go for a walk or maybe grow up a little

REALITY

as a fanbase we all look wayyy too much into charts. just enjoy the music you guys :smh:

People just want to fuel their own ego. Personally, I don't really care about the charts; if PI does well, okay, if it doesn't, then okay. I just feel like people are so focused on the charts because they want something to brag about. Like, "Oh, Gaga is so perfect, look at all these #1 hits!".

Her success does not equate to her happiness, nor should it anyone else. Of course we want her to succeed, and I agree with you. I feel like we look into things way to far and forget why we enjoy Gaga—because of her character, music, and actions. Sad, really.
