I stand by what I said. Perfect Illusion as a whole sounds messy compared to Shake It Off.

Its because Gaga's voice is too powerfull that it diminishes the production. It happen with Bad Romance, Do What U Want, and Born This Way too. And with PI, she's screaming at the end. Taylor sounds like a mouse singing (no shade), so of course the production does sound better. Almost all of Gaga's intrumentals can LITERALLY stand on their own without any singing. Can't say the same for Taylor's discography.

I know you're right about the instrumentals, but Gaga won't get a Grammy for having a good instrumental if the vocals over it sound not so good. Shake It Off was nominated because it sounded nice and clean as the final product. They could've done a much better job on Perfect Illusion.
