I other words, there's no central theme. It's random like ARTPOP.

ARTPOP was a concept album. Only the concept was as mess

gagz this IS a concept album, the concept is about life, an album without concept has songs that have NOTHING in common, like Prism or 1989

that's what I thought but those were her words  I think she's just trying to avoid ARTPOP comparisons and talking about this grand message she's spreading. she's just keepin it real I guess

I'm fine with her not doing a clear concept this time... But if she reduces her music videos to just eye p**rn, I'm going to get bored of them

Though the layers of Perfect Illusion seem to be quite promising. She might just not talk about the meanings of each song this time around.

Yes. ARTPOP has a concept.

Two observations about this video:

1. She seems to have dropped every last bit of pretense. No concept album, no theme, no avant garde clothes, no art... basically her theatrical side has been completely dropped and we now have a very simple, straightforward pop singer. It's weird. I love that we get to see her in a different way, but it's the absolute opposite of what she used to be. It's going to take some getting used to.

2. She keeps squirming and touching her face and not looking directly at the interviewers. She seems less secure, less comfortable in front of them. Is she nervous? She just doesn't seem to have the confidence she used to have (even during the C2C era). Maybe it's because it's her first pop album since ARTPOP and she's wary of how it will be perceived. Or maybe she feels "naked" not having her avant garde outfits anymore. It's just really interesting to watch how differently she acts.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

She's probably tired of LMs calling her pretentious for having ideas beyond "work work work work work work work. "

I noticed that too! she was even wary of looking at the camera when they said to say hi. I wonder if it is nerves because it's her first pop album in three years or if she does feel vulnerable because it is (probably) her most personal record to date. she is a pretty private person, especially compared to most celebs right now.
