Babel 41,429 Posted September 12, 2016 Share Posted September 12, 2016 This isn't a negative thread, it's my opinion as a Luciano Pavarotti fan and a 80 year old classic music fan who's been around since the Renaissance. She can't get away with being a singer because she's not a singer. Period. Her voice is a basic autotuned voice disguised in a real one. No amount of belts, high notes, vocal runs can hide it. The audience can sense fakery from a mile away. The fact that she grew up with all kind of music influences and likes Tony Bennett's classics does not make her a good vocal performer. Gaga was successful with the autotune and the looks because that's a natural part of her, and it was real actual autotuned pop, and the people immediately recognized it as a part of her. Rant over.
