Economy 53,144
http://theconversation.com/lust-for-life-breaking-the-120-year-barrier-in-human-ageing-14911 doing many studies in aging, and observing the shrinking strings after each cell division, Scientists believe the maximum human life-span potential is 120 roughly speaking If we can erradicate all desiese and premature deaths, get everyone to eat a perfect diet, exersize and live stress free lives etc, we could live to 120 on average After that, it doesnt matter how healthy you are, your cells no longer divide, your body shuts down, and you die. In order to ever get life expectancy above 120 (its been stuck near 80 in developed world for nearly 2 decades now) wed need to find a way to literally stop or slow down aging at the cellular level Jeane Calmante of France was the only confirmed human to pass this mark after passing away at 122. Envi 765
My great great grand has lived for 103 years, she died because she fell on the stairs. She could've lived for 110 years. ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫

Economy 53,144
Just now, Noah said: Is there away to keep cells from stopping? + is there a way from stopping to age/ is it being developed? Theres some kind of strings at the end of your chromosones that shrink every time your cells divide. Its almost like a clock. In fact if you investigate a crime scene and you get DNA samples, you can have an idea of how old they are based on the remaining size of those strings Lab tests show that once those strings shrink to a certain size, they stop dividing. This is true for any species (although in some species it shrinks faster than in others) Wed need to find a way to slow that down or stop it But virtually no one lives long enough for that. Complications from aging (even if you have no health issues) usually will kill you before you get to that point. Many perfectly healthy people in their 90s and beyond are perfectly healthy but their body is just weak and slowly shuts down (sometimes suddenly) and they die. Many scientists believe there is another conponent to aging although its not clear how big a role it plays. Everytime your cells divide, there are errors created, genic information that wasnt perfectly copied and it accumulates over time. Its believed that once enough errors accumulate, it starts to impact your organ and body functions. The errors probably explain malfunctions and health problems that aggravate as you get older The shrinking strings shouldnt cause health problems but probably explain slowing efficiency of cells and gradual weakening of your functions A person who lives as healthy as possible can reduce errors in DNA by putting less strain on system but there is no evidence to show that the shrinking striggs are affected by gealth habits In essance 1 aspect of aging you can slow by being healthy but the other factor you have no control over
