Did Diane influence Perfect Illusion?

I've been thinking about this a lot today... Diane Warren is truly one of the most revered songwriters of the last 30 years. She's written so many iconic hits. And for someone like Lady Gaga, who has such an appreciation for songwriting, to have the opportunity to work with her had to be one of the greatest achievements of her life.

Even though Diane was not involved in writing Perfect Illusion, I can't help but think that she had an influence on Gaga while Gaga was working on it. I mean, Perfect Illusion has all the melodic song structure magic that you find in almost all of Diane's classic hits. Particularly the late 80's pop/rock hits that really put Diane on the map.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Perfect Illusion "sounds like" any of these Diane songs, but it certainly would fit perfectly on a playlist among them.

(also, please note... Diane f-cking LOVES a key change!!)

I think Gaga writing with a good song writer has taught her alot of things!
