Billboard Reviews Lady Gaga's Perfect Illusion.

We mentioned the stakes up above, but let’s repeat. ARTPOP sold well, but it missed the mark set by its predecessors, along with arguably more promotion and media saturation. Lady Gaga had to come back strong.

“Perfect Illusion” has only been out for a day, but its initial impressions are good. With the help of a crack team of collaborators (Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker, BloodPop) Gaga is back in business. The dancefloor hooks are on point and Gaga’s unexpected, adopted accents (and the memes that will likely result) keep it from sounding too normal. She’s set herself up to pivot into edgier territory with single No. 2.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS

Honestly, I'd be ok if this single peaks at 5 and then the 2nd single goes straight to number 1. I think PI is a good introduction into the era to bless the children of  this world.

Applause 5 ? I don't think so

Applause still remains as her best choice for a lead single. :golfclap:

Even though I agree that Just Dance is a really important moment in Gaga's career, as a song I think it's infinitely inferior to anything Gaga released in later years. I don't know what they were considering when they made this list.
Is it quality? Then Just Dance should be at the bottom.
Is it impact? Then Perfect Illusion shouldn't even be considered yet.

PI is the appetizer for the main course and dessert that are the next singles . The whole meal is the album and it is a gourmet meal with quirky pop funk rock dance theme songs served in Gaga's kitchen.

You see, Gaga only started teaming up with ronson, bloodpop and the guy from tame impala about less than a year ago based from the bbc1 interview. I want to know what was the song she was planning to make a single waaay before that. When did she say she started going to the studio? Did she only start LG5 after c2c? She made a song with redone right and he got a little pouty because it isnt the single?

I am so excited for her album song with Florence.

This is how you talk about ARTPOP. Sure it wasn't as massive as Born This Way, but it was not a commercial disappointment like how some reviewers described.

Selling 2.5 million copies worldwide is something some artists never achieved in their music career at all.
