Energy... Since energy is neither created nor destroyed, harnessing it would be the goal. What most of us think about energy related to the gravity and atmosphere that earth's proximity has given us to live in...Space is a vacuum where gravity is not constant and can vary greatly. Since we want to 'travel' with a craft , the gravity pull would depend on the mass of the said ship, and therefore impact the amount of energy required to move it thu a space warp. Harnessing energy in near non gravity vacuum, (space) requires much less mass and may be achieved using sonic thrust.... The theory that sound can provide thrust isn't new and in space a 'surround' sound crucible would be ideal for holding a nuclear reaction just before it explodes.
