A lot of research by Nasa and team of scientists has been going on in the field of Warp Drive. While it was fiction in Star Trek, there was always a scientific theory behind it, one that now seems extremely likely to be possible

The idea goes by warping (or shrinking) the fabric of space. Its almost like squeezing a sponge and reducing its size but once u stop squeezing it goes back to its regular shape.

By doing this as your travel your can shrink/warp the fabric right in front of you and there creating a short cut as you travel. You wouldnt literally be traveling faster than light but youd cover the diatance anyway

In Physic theory there is a method that makes this possible although the energy required is too high for what were currently able to produce!

maybe being faster than light is just a perfect illusion :poot:

Well yes technically. Cause the distance u cover would suggest ur travelling faster than light but you actually wouldnt be

That all sounds great but space is warped by matter and mass. Which means that space is actually warped by energy because E=mC^2. So to virtually wrap the space in front and behind a spacecraft would take an enormous amount of energy. Where are we going to harness and control such incredible energies?

We currently cant

Exactly! On the Kardashev civilization scale, we're technically not even a Type I planetary civilization yet! What they're talking about with the warp drive is more like a Type II solar civilization or Type III galactic civilization.

Type II would be something along the lines of Star Trek where they can harness the full power of the star. Type III would be along the lines of Star Wars where the energy of the entire galaxy can be harnessed.

Meh, that scale to me never made much sense. Each stars energy varies considerably. 1 species by that scale could enter a level and another not even though they are equally advanced just because their star us a different size

anyway, my point for posting this wasnt so much for saying its gonna happen soon. Im merely pointing out that its believed that its possible. No one suggested it happening in our life times

and thankgodness. It would be caos if we ran into aliens because we coukdnt have any formal dealing with them seeing as we still dont have a world government. Were devided Nation by Nation making us impossible to deal with diplomatically in an interspecies kinda way

This is exciting and sad, because its so our of our reach right now that i wont get to see it happen, not to mention experience it myself.

I might be wrong (and im an idiot for saying it in gagadaily specially, the least open minded place in humanity) but I am a believer of a karma based-multiple lives existence, as it is the most exciting way of thinking about the future, being able to experience everything so im hopeful rn.

I thought space was a vacuum. How do you shrink nothing?

Also, what happens if you shrink people? For example, if your ship is passing by the earth? I don't think people will "go back to their regular shape".

Seems kinda far fetched to me.

No. Space simply doesnt have air. But its still made up of something (which we dont understand 100%)

If it wasnt made of anything it couldnt conduct light or even gravity.

Its called "fabric of space". We cant see it tho. Its makeup is either too tiny to be seen with any kind if microscope or its simply invisible to us

All's I know is that 'if' we can achieve warp, they won't be able to catch us....

cause...

We're hauling ass....

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true
