Can we talk about the production?

Can we talk about the small details?

At 0:56 you hear a robotic "maybe you're just a dream" and that sound at 1:03 that I can't describe. While she sings "but at least now I know"

BloodPop clearly at work.

If you focus on the production it sounds so, dare I say it, PERFECT.

I feel it could've been mixed a lot better; the vocals are absolutely perfect, but they're programmed a little too loud. If you listen to the official instrumental you can hear all the things you should hear.

You can hear the robotic vocals (it's made by pitching her vocals down)  in "I JUST WANT YOU ALONE" too :D

I swear when I keep jumping back and forth listening on different devices (I've listened on my laptop, phone, speakers, car, studio monitors) I keep picking out different elements. The aesthetic of the production sounds "raw" and stripped in comparison to her previous music, but there's actually so much going on here and I love it. The detail is amazing.

I also think it's amazing how there's certain elements of the song that you can tell was a contribution from each producer. The electronic sounds appear to be Blood's work, the drums seem to be very Tame Impala - just a little more pop - and the guitars towards the end are very Ronson. I didn't know how they would all mix together but it's amazing.

maybe PI is the intro to the album - the first track. That would explain why it's so short and she did say she wanted to give a vibe for the album via this single.

nah hearing any instrumental I always hear new things but I think PI was mixed well

the vocal are mixed loud in the chorus which made me think of how they did that with bad romance

I think they did the loudness on purpose to give it an alternative feel
