I'm not hooked, I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed because it just doesn't feel like a new lead single. If this was suppose to undeniably be her exciting comeback single of the album's songs then I really don't know how to feel about the album. I knew she shouldn't have did the whole / vast majority of the project with Mark because why make the new album an entirely different direction and just that? Like if this is THE hit, the peak of the album, it's kinda disappointing. But ofcourse this is ONE song and we haven't heard anything else so I'd like to remain optimistic for the rest. If I've learned something from Gaga, it's that she always does something different and her lead singles are not the reflection of the rest of the album. YES, Bad Romance is THE Gaga song, but I'm talking about Born This Way and Applause. Both songs took a while for me to like them, but the rest of the album tracks are even better. She has been like this for years now and obviously not all songs will sound the same. Mark my words, just like with Born This Way, fans will love ARTPOP again and go back to it for nostalgia. But I think they chose the song that would best represent the feeling and tone of the album in full. I've seen this happen with Carrie Underwood's latest album. The lead single wasn't the best, but the rest of the album had some great songs. Her album also marked a transition in a new style of music for her. I think the same is happening for Gaga.
