The BEST is yet to come?

In my opinion, this single is just a way to come back, actually. A simple song that has the purpouse to let people remember her name again and bring her back on the charts. The real BADASS will come later, with the second singe and the whole album. A lot of artists do the same: they have a good song to come back, and wonderfu ones later on. I like Perfect Illusion :rockstar:, so I think I'll really enjoy the rest of LG5.

The song reminds me of Joan Jett's angst and Donna Summer's groove. It's a perfect illusion of ROCK and DISCO POP. LG5 is gonna be awesomee!!!

If the other songs are better than PI I'm gonna knock on Gaga's door naked and ask her to **** me

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

A lot of time the second single is the better one kept by the label I think. Like the last exemple I have is Ariana Grande which kept Into You as second single instead of lead. Same goes with Judas, which was the real hit of BTW for Interscope that kept it for 2sd single. So maybe.

I agree!

Taylor Swift started with Shake it Off, a fairly lyrically mediocre song with a simple message. The same as Perfect Illusion (although PI has amazing production and flawless vocals (unedited).

I think she'll follow up with something special, who knows what though? I expected a completely different sound from what we got, so I'm clueless at this point. STILL LOVE PI THOUGH! MY JAM FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS UNTIL LG6!

Swan Heart

I won't be able to take it.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Even though we know nothing of the song yet, I'm hoping that Gaga's collaboration with Florence will become a single in the future. Two of my favorite queens working together, I still can't believe it. :diane:

Needless to say is that the sound of Perfect Illusion has made me even more excited for LG5.

im not trying to be a negative nancy but these kinds of threads seem like such false cheer. like, of course there's going to be a lot of gems on the album, but the debut single is really the first and sometimes only shot you get in terms of how people receive your album. No one here doubts that there's going to be other great and likely better songs on the album, but PI is def. a disappointment to many people so already the album campaign feels slightly less...exciting.

I think so too. I mean Kevin Parker hasn't really had the chance to shine yet, neither has Ronson really.

I feel like the album will see Gaga explore more with them and also collabs with Beck and Florence are as encouraging as you can get.

Make Me is one of the worst songs on Glory, Work is an anomaly in ANTi for the most part, so it's definitely possible

This reminds me of Carrie Underwood's latest album. Her first single from the album marked a different style of music. Amongst fans it wasn't their favorite song. However, once the album was released, fans realized that the best songs weren't chosen for the lead. Most people assumed that the lead was chosen because it marked a style change in Carrie's career. It was more country than any other material she had done previously. I think that might be possible for Gaga in this case. I think her team decided to show off something new and/or might be holding off the best for the album.
