blackcoffee 1,264
Funny she changed this playlist because I was just thinking this morning about how I wish she would make a playlist on Spotify of songs that influenced/inspired Perfect Illusion and eventually one for LG5. I would find a influence/inspiration playlist super interesting and insightful. To me, I can hear so much of the music I grew up listening to from my parents in PI. My parents listened to a ton of 70s/80s music and I can totally see her inspired by certain sounds from that era for PI (I mean she always has been tbh and it makes sense as she grew up on that music since I'm only 4 years younger then her and our parents are probably the same age and stuff...this is a huge reason I fell in love with her back in 07/08). PI gives me Eurythmics (the bright synths remind me of "Here Comes the Rain Again"), Irene Cara's classic "What a Feelin", and Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield" vibes. I'd be interested if these pieces were sound sources of inspiration for Gaga. I'm also interested to see if AHS:H's soundtrack, heavy in late 70s/early 80s new wave, post-punk music, was a huge source of inspiration (plus her performing songs by bands like the Talking Heads that also fit right into that genre).
