If you do not like the track there are probably several reasons why and it's ok... PI is one complex track, there is a lot that happens through out the song, modulations, a crossover style(Hard to do), strange counts, quite a layered sound with different instruments and also gaga's vocals(which are stellar) but I am telling you there is no pop song like it right now, try as hard as possible you wont find it! Its a bloody good track! I think the problem with the perception that we have of gaga is that we want that smash hit song all the time, we always want bad romance energies. That only happens once, someone please recall a time when we had artists dropping smash singles...2008. That ship has sailed. Beyonce doesn't release singles, Rihanna does but then it doesn't get the traction that's why ANTI came way later than 'b**tch better have my money'. Adele's 'Hello' ...really, in comparison to 'Someone like you' or 'Rolling in the deep'? The culture around singles has changed.We wont even mention Katy Lets not forget she's human also we shouldn't have expectations of what she should do or be. Let her just scalp us in the way which she pleases. Let us celebrate her and her artistic growth and decisions! I think part of the reason I wasn't big on it at first is 'cause the radio station played it in horrible quality then iHeart Radio streamed it and it was just...omg. And the YouTube version... It still seems very easy to digest while I was hoping it would be a single that wasn't so mainstream focused and let the talents of Kevin Parker and Ronson shine a little more. Yeah I love it now I wish. I was talking about previous Gaga songs but I'm sure you already knew that. I had to listen to Perfect Illusion a few times as well before I started to like it. I immediately listened to it when I woke up but I was still "out of it" so I didn't process what was being said at first (and I was still thinking back to that explicit dream I had. ) Now it has been on repeat for a few hours and I'm in love with it.
