I understand.  Especially if you're just a fan of pop, and not classic/arena rock, it could be a major disappointment.  Honestly, I think Perfect Illusion will cater most strongly to people my age and older who grew up with classic rock in their life.

Every single Gaga lead I've liked upon the first listen, often within the first half of the song. However, I can not say the same for PI. I've been listening and listening.... but I can't get into it. I want to so badly but it's just not happening. 

I certainly don't think it's a bad song in terms of quality I'm just not liking it so far. And before I hear people try to drag me for my OPINION, I loved Appluase upon first listen and I had to hear people say "I didn't like it when it was first released" & "It was a grower" for three years now, so let's not. 

Just say your honest opinion. P.S. I already spent my coins I will always support Gaga, I'm just not sure if I'm the biggest fan of PI at the moment.

As for me, I hated Born This Way and Applause, but then they grew on me. For PI, I instantly loved it.

Excuse me, but I just said that I did NOT hate applause upon first listen, as I was scalped with the synth intro. 

Gaga never released a single & a video on the same day but I already knew that I loved the songs for what they were, great pop songs (without a visual!!!). 

So what is the truth, enlighten me, know it all

I like the song. It's way better than Applause. At the same time, I'm not blown away by it at all and find her pronunciation kind of irritating.

I have consistently been underwhelmed with Gaga's lead singles upon first listen, literally every era. Bad Romance, BTW, Applause, and now PI. And each time, I realize it's because it's a departure from the sound she's done before.

With every listen though, subtleties and layers keep building and compounding and soon enough I realize how it's ****ing brilliant, and then I end up crying into a body pillow because I just can't take how wonderful it is~~

I would say: reserve judgment until we get the music video. That's always the nail in the coffin when it comes to being sleigh'd.

The only thing I don't like about it is the harmony change in the end, but that's probably because generally I think modulations feel cheesy

Also listen to 80s rock-pop bands (all I can think of when I hear this song is Duran Duran, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult). It totally adds a new point of reference that makes it even better.

Tbh I started liking Applause months after it was released. Now it's one of my favorite Gaga songs. So wait and you might love it eventually.

As for PI I think it's great, although a bit repetitive. Can't wait to see it live.

Well then, you are probably a EDM lover, not pop/rock lover. Hence your lack of interest for the song. Simple as that
