I'm absolutely in love with Perfect Illusion! I've been a Monster since I bought The Fame in '09, and I've liked each album since then more than the previous one (Yes, ARTPOP is my favorite, and I'm proud of it!)

Anyway I've been listening to PI all day and playing it for all my friends! I was starting to annoy my roommate, so I decided to create an account on here so I could keep talking about it!

Hahahahha I feel you. I'm sharing this moment with my best best friend for 13 years. She's really addicted from Perfect Illusion and expects a video as much as me.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

I was talking to my friends tonight about the new single and most of them hadn't heard it yet but she got so much praise in general, I was so happy! The one who has heard it really, really likes it.

I just listened to it again after a few hours and it's honestly incredible! I love it so, so much. It takes hold of you and doesn't let you go til it's finished and then you want to listen all over again. Even the parts I was unsure of at first have grown on me, I'm now obsessed with the bridge and the outro.

She really delivered with this song and I couldn't be happier to be a Gaga fan right now. We're so lucky to have her, she's a force of nature and so special.

Exactly my experience as well.

It's a true gem.

For the people complaining about the repetitiveness...

Have you even HEARD poker face? She says "p-p-p-poker face p-p-poker face" like seven million times.

That is so funning. I was just thinking about that today ha.

Definitely a grower, but I definitely also wouldn't say it's her best single: BR, TEOG, MTN, DWUW, PF and Paparazzi are all better IMO, but I'm glad that she did something different and that she's taking risks. And risks do not pay off in the short term usually, but they leave a mark in the long term. If the song is any indication of the direction of the album, I think the album has a great potential and can be game changer.

I don't like rock music and I was strongly against Gaga going rock, but this song slays so hard  After all this time this woman still keeps surprising me :firega:

I haven't been online for ages (so so busy in real life with job etc) and I'm pretty sure you guys don't remember me. I just wanted to say that I love the new song! it's definitely a grower and after listening to it for multiple times I can say, yes, it's repetitive and I wish there were more lyrics. BUT the song is catchy and her vocals are everything! I can really imagine people dancing to it. I can't wait for the album. :firega:

I've listened to Perfect Illusion countless times, and while its definitely a grower, I can't help but still feel slightly underwhelmed. I guess I had high expectations, but my expectations were based on my past expectations of Gaga's music and the producers involved. I can't shake the feeling that PI doesn't quite go there. I like it, but something just isn't clicking with me like Gaga's past music. I still have a lot of faith in LG5, but I feel as though Perfect Illusion was chosen more based on the recent situation with Taylor and not because it was lead material.

I think the reason why they chose PI as lead single is because it might be the most catchy song on LG5.
I mean...based on the producers ,it could be an indie-rock album, but most of her fans are pop fans.
Maybe she want to shift our expectations but don't want us to be too shock about her change at the same time, because LG5 clearly will have a different vibe from her previous works.
It may not be a commercial success as we expected, but it could get some positive reviews and  probably win some grammys ,just like Beck's morning phase.

Last night was the first time I really shut myself off from all the forums, all the reviews, all the "noise" that was clouding up the song, and I sat down, closed my eyes and really listened to it.

And oh my God, the song is sh!t hot.  I feel like I really "get" it now. And yes it does take a while but that's okay because the song is going to worm it's way into people's minds and have a consistent run like Applause. No it probably won't be a #1 or maybe even top 5 but it doesn't matter because the critics adore it and that is what helps to sustain a career.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
