CookieHWilson 684
amazing. I am glad that pop bitches don't like it so they can finally rest their fingernails and leave in the world in peace. I am amazed at the truth of the vocals. It's a bullet. Perfect. I am so happy. Guess I can go to sleep now. I am not gonna read comments anymore and finally enjoy what I was waiting for since a long time now. A SONG. Not just a music product. I feel like with my fave artists like it used to be for me prior to the Internet. Buy the record, listen to it while reading lyrics and let my mind work magic with the feelings it takes out of me. Then go to concert and find like minded people you don't even have to talk about it. This is a song of feelings. And I felt that. nonsequitur
elsongalang 8
This song is just sooo good! It's euphoric, the kind when you just wanna vomit rainbows! I can't stop playing this f*ckin* masterpiece! And I love the shortness of this song, it's enough to anticipate more for the whole album but not enough to give an overall prediction on how the whole album will go like. migamiga 12,101
HEAR ME OUT. When she first announced PI I already didn't like the artwork or the title (but I got over BTW and AP), but I was too excited that I let it go. Then when she released the single cover and the BTS pics from the video, I became worried again cause it looked so rock-influenced. Gaga slays me in one of two ways- visually and sonically- and since I hadn't heard the song yet, I was already let down. But once she posted the snippet with the intro I was SLAYYYYYYED! I f*cking loved it and had so much hope for it. Now here are my thoughts on the song: What I actually liked: lyrics are a huge improvement from AP's cringey mess, the experimentation with song structure, the intro, the verses, the key change What I didn't like: the repetitiveness- I know her trademark has been repetition, but to put it in Gaga's own words the "word vibrations" do not work and I already sensed that from the moment she announced PI's title. Perfect Illusion just sounds weird. And on top of that she has to enunciate it like that plus the word "lawve". Like why? Everything felt rushed, it sounded really dated, not comeback/1st single material. I get that she doesn't care and that she is an artist, but I'm allowed to have an opinion on it and critique. The most annoying fans are the ones who are criticizing other fans for expressing their own opinions. If Gaga didn't care about charts/sales/success she wouldn't be in Belgium promoting her song. She'd be like Lana. Sure she's not at the same desperation level as Katy, but she does care and this wasn't the best move if she wants to remain at her current stature. I hope I'm wrong and this song does sound brilliant in the near future but right now even saying "underwhelming" is an understatement. I love Gaga and will always support her. I bought the single and am trying to like it but I just don't know if she'll deliver this time around. Nothing's going for me- visually, sonically, emotionally. Dont even try to cope with it with conjectures. There is no problem. It is such a direct song that to cut it like sushi to find reasons sounds unreasonable and useless. Anyone has its taste. This is a great song because it doesn't compromise that much. nonsequitur
That J 12,166
I've not read anyone's thoughts....I will but I decided to post mine before doing so. This is a slow burner of a song. People will hear it and say "That's it? There's not much there!" Wrong. After literally 48 listens and studying the structure, voice, etc....there's more than meets the initial ear here. For one, she's finally using her concert voice on a record. Second, this is one of her deeper songs if you'll hear it. Third, it's not so much about the music...it's her vocals that slay...the build up vocally in 3 minutes is astounding. That crescendo, vocally, at the end is insane! Add in that kick drum....BAM! It IS totally different than any of her songs, especially for a lead single. That's another reason why I love it. While I hate comparisons, lemme break it down here...this will be Confessions On A Dancefloor meets Guns N Roses. And that's who Lady Gaga really is. Bid farewell to the Poker Face, wake up to the real, the Perfect Illusion. 5 stars out of 5 The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

Lady Palutena 3,147
I didn't like it at first but I layed down, closed my eyes, and listened to it more intently then I found it growing more and more enjoyable I love the mysterious vibe that the lyrics "where are you, 'cause I can't see you, but I feel you watching me, dilated, falling free in a modern ecstasy" give me Overall, I like it, way to go Gaga! Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.
