i feel like people do it when they're trying to really emote what they're saying. its just being expressive, not because they can't verbalize when they're saying, but they want to explain to what degree they feel something. idk... lol

Yes that's what people I talk to say, my Dad does that a lot and it drives me crazy, it makes me feel anxious and I can't help it but I guess people who that can't either. So yeah haha.

It is an Italian thing. Can confirm, I'm Italian and I do this whenever I speak. One time my friends made me sit on my hands so I wouldn't use them in conversation

I'm Spanish and I use my hands a lot to speak too so I went on a USA exchange and the family asked me if we all "spoke with our hands" in Spain :toofunny:

Hahahaha I'm 1/8 Italian on my moms side and I talk a lot with my hands too.
