Graphic designers around the world cringe.

I don't care what look she wants to go for, but I really wish she would hire professionals to help her achieve it. And if this was designed by a professional... then she needs to get a new one.

I'm not sure why this particular image was picked, and the font/color choice is questionable. The whole composition is a bit weird to me. The figure of her body is off center, but not enough to look purposefully done and its killing me.

That's a very interesting insight.

I feel like, partly with your help, I might finally better understand what exactly Gaga is. 

Once she started becoming famous, she essentially became "Gaga" and ever since, she's sort of navigated this space where she always transforms Gaga into the exact antithesis of what is widely perceived to be "Gaga" whether in the media or as who she is in relation to her fans.

Idk but I do recall Gaga saying in an interview that she's very interested in challenging what people perceive Gaga to be. And many of her actions would support this idea.

mixed feelings tbh but the excitement wins over... I like that it's a dinamic image and a still from the music video but that's about it...

not a fan of the fashion nor the lack of stuff you know...

YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!! I do do do love it! And it seems like she's trying to get real close to the GP. The cover is very very very too ordinary for Gaga, but GP always wanted to see some kind of this ordinary girl under those fancy clothes cover!

To understand an artist, truly understand their motivations is near impossible. I have been an art critic for some years, had some publications in the genre, and one of my very closest friends is a visual artist, but understanding what happens in anyone's mind is hard not to mention the complex mind of an artist.

As far as Gaga is concerned, when she did the interview with Jamie Lee Curtis, she said a different thing that she hadn't ever said before. She said that Gaga, whatever she thinks she is, is something that she now does not control. She seemed to be into a place where she has now accepted, that no matter what she does, nearly any form of art or action she puts in the world will be translated through the lens of media, celebrity, and ultimately fame, and become something wholly different in the end.

 

Maybe now, she truly has become a master of fame? I have accepted long ago that I cannot guess at what she will give us next, but I think this era she will give us something beyond the boundaries of our imaginations, and the music will speak for itself in a way that it never has before. Evoking emotions in a way that both she and her fans have never experienced together. It will be special.

true, also she's older now, she doesnt need to make her statements trhough a meat dress. how boring would it be if she was still doing that. she evolves, shes not madonna

just like (hopefully) people on their thirties are not acting the way they did in college anymore..

Basically, this forum, in a nutshell. The cover could have featured her in a flamboyant, avant garde dress with sparklers coming out of her vajayjay, and people would still be writing essays on how "this isn't the Gaga they fell in love with."

It says lads about what to expect from this era. Nothing flashy just music and thats what I want. I don't want some failed ARTPOP "try to hard" experience. I just want quality music.

The funny thing for me is, and the most evolutionary part of this is? This is avant garde for her. In a short period of time, she has defined an image of herself and built on that image to the point of stagnation and to a level untouchable to then redefine herself against it to the point where: to the GP it looks like she may be pandering to them in some way, or becoming more plain, but to us, she has suddenly transformed in a way we never truly imagined into a new Gaga that is wholly herself and yet somehow new.

exactly, but also looking at her stefani phase if can tell the music always came before the looks for her... and i believe if that's the new style in her music too, even better, listen also to her singing as stefani or covering songs like "what's up"... it's clearly when she's at her best/most comfortable 

 

you can tell by the date ive joined here that ive been a fan from the first era and this is the one im most excited for tbh

Isn't it awful that this is a public space filled with varying opinions and people from all walks of life who have different relationships to Gaga and her work. This community would be so much more vibrant if everyone thought exactly like you, and liked only the things you liked.

I'm perfectly open to dissenting opinions. If I weren't, I wouldn't be on a forum. However, I also believe in letting people enjoy and appreciate things they like without performing the online equivalent of plopping a giant turd on their ice cream cone.
