msisux 2,261
So real, so raw, I LOVE IT I really think the GP will like it since she is toned down and looks more approachable/relatable compared to a lot of her well known looks
Fernster7 7,922
I'm okay with the clothes(except for the shoes) but the picture is really ugly, she looks so bad. And it's a shame because the sunset is beautiful. This could have been amazing. Monsters never die.
Nirvana 2,713
Hmmm... The cover gives me huge rock vibes, but not sure now how the visuals and music will be now. A bit confusing maybe, but I'm so grateful and hyped of the fact that we get new music it's the first thing on my mind.

This single and album she's creating is music but also art, it's a form of artistic expression. It seems in previous eras we've looked at her clothes and loved how they fully blend with the music and art she's creating yet because she's not wearing what we want her to wear to this era we're all dismissing it? This change of direction in her career to me is a bigger artistic leap than from her previous albums, taking this more personal, grunge side of her and bringing it out into the forefront of her career is a big artistic statement for her, we normally see this side of her when she performs covers or when she lets loose at concerts, know she's opening it up for the whole world to see. This in itself is an artistic statement, losing the clothes and wigs that made her "Gaga" is the biggest artistic change she's done through out her whole career, she can wear the Mona Lisa on a dress and try and bullsh*t about how it's art but it really isn't, it's merely wearing someone else's art work BUT changing your entire image, stripping it back, working with new producers and creating your brand into the opposite of what it should be especially as a pop star is a huge art piece and exploration of artistic expression. ^ THIS .....100/100 What’s fortnight

I like her thick little legs, her girthy gams. I like the composition of the photograph. I don't hate the font. But over all, it's a very try-hard single cover. So far the photos she has released to promote Perfect Illusion are cliche interpretations of Alternative Rock imagery. The head banging messy hair, the screamo death grip on the glans of the mic, the fist in the air, the combat boots, the swinging mic. It's corny. It's a caricature of Rock music. It's uninspired and boring. It's been done to death. When she sang jazz she felt compelled to dress like a lounge singer in basic Maxwell gowns because that is how jazz singers present themselves, and now for some reason she feels the need to adopt a redundant Rock Star costume because that is how Rock stars dress. She looks like a pop star trying to be a rock star. It's not great. once again with the contrarian essays dropping "truth" about how contrived and annoying you find her. id say shes definitely adopted some cliche-alt tropes. ill agree with that, has not gone unnoticed by me. but in my opinion her vocals recently negate any sense of her being a "caricature" of what rock music is. at heart, shes always been a rock star. in fact, even at her most glam. so I disagree with your accusations of disingenuous behavior, although agree with her consistently adopting certain fashion tropes that which inhabit whatever shes currently most influenced by (which is hardly something to crucify?). if you want purity i dont think lady gaga is where you look for it so I kind of find this whole essay a little try-hard in itself. you know what lady gaga is at this point; an ostentatious ever-morphing pop star. shes not bjork. shes not fka twigs. she is often times everything that offends the "taste" of someone such as yourself. the jaded fags that have "been there seen that" and would rather take a melodic stroll elsewhere. Galactic Mess 1,393
Well, she's obviously not being original with her looks or anything. However, I do think seeing a popstar wearing this sort of imagery is a relief these days. It just feels lighter. Anyway, I'm pretty satisfied with the cover and hope the song is great! luckythisway 2,610
I'm not one of the people who's always like "Respect what Gaga's doing she's an artist music not the bling be grateful" BUT I will say that this is Gaga in the sense that she shocked her fans. Like for the people who are pressed, if you want her to start being crazy and weird again like she did with BTW, she'll continue to isolate every last bit of the GP. She knows what she's doing. AND the song sounds like it will be a new twist on classic Gaga so let's just wait a sec
