She's addicted to this drug that she's gained so much comfort in...she just wants that one last puff before she has to kick the habit for the sake of her relationship/man. She's saying "Yes I'm addicted. Yes I need it and want it, yes it's ruining my sense of self and but let me have those quick few puffs before I have to stop because if I don't I'll lose you". It's the duplicitous nature of any addict. The knowing it's wrong and bad but the need to continue, the faux fulfillment. I don't necessarily see any irony to the song however. I just see it like if she's singing all that to prove that she crave drugs more than that person who is probably saying to her she needs to stop. I just can't unsee it. And it's because of the vocals, I always expect the "yeah right" part in the end of the chorus line. They can't scare me, if I scare them first. I think she whole heartedly believes she needs this person more than dope but the irony lies in the fact that she continues to do it despite knowing it's wrong. Just having one last puff, one last regret. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Just having one last puff, one last regret. I just listened to the song once again and wanted to write the same thing... It seems like she is doing drugs even while singing the lyrics... like someone already left her but FU, I will still do this, I don't need you. They can't scare me, if I scare them first.
