huttont 5,202
I like Katy perry and her music. She's a great performer, song writer, and marketer, but I wish she were a better live singer. I guess her attitude sometimes annoys me. But I feel like there is an unnecessary rivalry between the fan bases.
Arturo 40,746
I used to hate her then I became an adult.
Anderson123 37,569
I've never been a fan of Katy nor her music. Ever since "I Kissed A Girl" I found her personality a little bit annoying, like that girl in school that'd talk fast or be too annoying that I can't stand. This has never got anything to do with Gaga, my friends know that I've always been turned off by Katy's music and her persona. Yes, I have listened to some of her albums because some of my close friends were obsessed with her back then and I gave it a try. I liked Teenage Dream (song), ET and The One That Got Away. I just don't know, it's not my type of artist to listen to. Her voice is not something I enjoy and she's been EVERYWHERE and I hate that it happened. I don't like overexposed artists like they just want to shove their music into your throat. I like Bruno Mars and I'd listen to his music because he's cool and talented, but he's been everywhere all the time that I really don't even have the need to listen to him anymore. They're obviously very different artists though, it's just that too much can be annoying sometimes.
Maggi 29
I will never understand how some of you can hate someone that actually bother to sing live at the same time as you LOVE Britney who have been lip-syncing her way through almost her entire career
PaperIz 7,338
I hate her after she sabotaged Applause and then Make Me. If she's gonna rely on cheap competition to be popular, she can lose imo. Hate her now. Human generated art
JesseBabe 836
I personally don't hate her at all. I actually really liked her during her One of The Boys era and was obsessed with her Teenage Dream era. I liked Roar a lot and was excited for her new album. When Prism got released you could say that I was extremely disappointed. I struggled to find songs on that album that I generally liked, and found myself skipping a huge majority of the album. I felt like I wasted money on her album because I didn't like it and I had bought it . And on top of that, when everyone was shitting on Gaga and pinning them together, Idk, I just started getting annoyed with her music, because it was constantly being played everywhere. I'm like why is this girl getting all the praise when ARTPOP is (in my opinion), so much better and has way more bops, yet Gaga can't catch a break? I also don't really like Katy's personality. She just seems fake and I have a hard time relating to her. And even now I never even listened to Rise fully, because it was boring and sounded like a slower version of Roar with different lyrics. If she releases more bops with her new album I'll probably go back to liking her way more than I do now, but I feel like the quality of music has to be there. I don't care about the drama she had previously with any other singers, it has nothing to do with me or my life. Lol.

If the other artitsts would have deliver better material (in the eye of the GP), they would've won the battle. You can't blame Katy for being a more successful artist. And... actually, there is no competition between them. The public is the one that needs to fight, if you know what I mean.
xdxrovied 323
she's mediocre, she has no creativity, like, it's in everything she does. it's like having really annoying voice around you, i don't drag her if you don't ask me to, and everything she does is soooooooooooooooooo whack. it's like a parody! she's a reflection of a dying cultured public, she represents people that lack music knowledge and buy songs because they are "nice" or because they "like the rhythm". Make Me is still performing, maybe not the best, and Rise is dead so And I can blame Kathy for purposely making competition to try to make herself look better. I was a fan of her before all this. Not to mention her continued involvement with Dr. Luke. She doesn't deserve me as a fan. Human generated art
stircrazy 86
Honestly it's more of a love -to -hate type situation for me. She's just fun to Make fun of. Also, her fans take her too seriously which in itself is hilarious.
StrawberryBlond 14,590
I was fine with her in her OotB era. But its been a love-hate thing with her since TD because that's when she started taking the shine off Gaga. But it was all just typical pop fan jealousy and I did like TD. But after she purposely went up against Applause and then decided to release her album a month before Gaga's, it got personal. I mean, she announced this song completely out the blue, no one thought her album was anywhere near done at this point. She'd even said about a month or so previously that she was "halfway done" with it. No sooner did Gaga post all those details about the new single and we thought she was safe because Katy wouldn't be there to create competition like last time...in she swoops with a new single and all the details. This was before Beyonce started that whole surprise release thing, so don't say it just happened that her surprise release coincided with a planned release. Record labels know when rivals are about to release. That's why they time things in such a way that every big name can breathe between releases. That's why you'll never see 2 big names release an album in the same week. Capitol totally knew that Gaga was going to release soon and decided to tell Katy to hurry up and finish early so that she could be in direct competition, knowing that the public would favour her because she'd just come off a highly successful era and was more commercial. It was underhanded and cruel. After that, it seemed to just be one big gloating competition every time something went wrong in her era. I never grow tired of pointing out how so many of her singles flopped, how many people were disappointed with the album, how so few of the songs on that record failed to gain any sort of public acknowledgement and became forgettable...and of course, how her next era will totally be her AP or thereabouts. It's time for karma to put her on a time out. She's had more than enough success. She could do with a flop, just like everyone else. I'm sorry but when I see performances like this and realise that people paid money to watch this when Gaga couldn't catch a break with her era... How can bats**t lunacy like this succeed and honest to God talent like Gaga can't? Katy's just lucky that her record label picked her to be an international superstar and commission big names to help her create commercial pop tunes. Without them, she'd still be Katy Hudson, singing ballads that don't get anywhere.
ctherainbow 3,162
I stopped respecting her as soon as I joined a choir and realized how difficult it is to sing well. So many artists put in the work to have outstanding vocal performances, consistently, and she doesn't. She makes catchy music that I can jam to(the studio versions), but she's a singer, and she clearly doesn't put in as much work as others in improving her vocal technique. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.
GagaTheExplorer 3,053
well... I don't hate her, I just want her to tank so I can make fun of her annoying fans I think she is a fake person with lack of talents and is a little bit annoying that she is successful just because she is good looking
Vague 424
Definitely don't hate her, I just don't respect her and roll my eyes at her success. Just like a lot of people do with Gaga and plenty of other pop stars. I don't believe in this circle jerk notion that were supposed to celebrate everyone even if we dont like them. I dont respect her just because she got to where she is. I dont care.

I dont respect her just because she got to where she is. I dont care. That put it down perfectly. I'm like that with a lot of artists. Yes, it's so true, we're raised to believe that you should automatically respect. and by extension, like, someone just because they're worked hard to get to where they are (even though the definition of 'working hard' differs) or because they have massive success (which is pointless as terrible people can gain success but don't deserve it). I don't have time for that notion. If you're a singer, you should be able to sing and make good music. If an artist cannot provide that (or can only do those things occasionally), don't expect me to kiss their feet. We have a tendency to pat artists on the back for simply doing their job like everyone else, like they're so above us. If us normal people don't do a job well, we get fired or at the very least, never get offered the chance for promotion and more money. But singers have the luxury of being above that. Which doesn't make me too happy.
