Commercial success (sales) maybe not in years to come of course however she's had an impact on pop culture like Gaga, Whitney, Britney, Christina etc. She's achieved a level of stardom that not a lot have.  She'll be remembered and as i said she wont be going anywhere anytime soon and it's naive to think otherwise.

Always legends

No one can take that away from any of them.

Okay, I get it...

"Does 'Til It Happens To You's failure foretell Lady Gaga's future?"

It doesn't? Oh, because the song wasn't built to perform for commercial public and slay the charts? and it was meant for motivational/charitable purposes?

It was made for a deeper meaning, than getting another top 10 hit.

:poot: The double standard is real. We're so quick to jump Katy, after 2013, it's unbelievable.

No. Rise's "failure", does not foretell her future.

I think that same question could be asked.Your grouping me in with a generalization of this site. I am not part of that

Nope. Just wasn't really given the single treatment. I think the song and video really is some of her best work.

She is the biggest PAYOLA "artist" so I don't think radio will stop playing her. 'Rise' was just a song for the Olympics not a "normal" single of hers. Unfortunately I think she's gonna have more number ones with her basic music. Basic will never stop reigning the industry

I wish but at this point, it's too hard to tell.

For all we know, it scared her into running back to Dr. Puke

I actually like the song Rise. It is so different from Katy's other songs. I always say i am bitter at Katy litter when I talk about her but it's time for me to move pass that 2013 feud.

Maybe Rise just doesn't click with her usual fans because it's a little mature and has a different feeling to it?

This song is atmospheric though. Good for a movie but not really radio friendly.

I try to spread positivity but it doesnt mean others need to stop plotting her demise.

Go on and do good work.

On a more serious note, music is incredibly hard to sell these days, and I'm not surprised anymore when music doesn't sell. It doesn't matter how good the song is. Katy can't even change that, but we'll see what she can do.

To be perfectly honest, she will probably be incredibly successful for no reason whatsoever again, and Gaga will create great content, but it wont sell, and every other fanbase will make fun (ARTPOP 2.0), but I hope that doesn't happen.

Hopefully :classy:...

But Katy herself has said that Rise isn't representative of what her next album will sound like and the song wasn't properly promoted (god only knows how it would have done under normal conditions)...so, no, I don't think the song is indicative of Katy's future.

The song probably did represent the album, but they saw how poorly it went, and they had to go back to the drawing boards. It's all about money and success for her and her team at the end of the day, to be honest.

I don't think the song was even conceived to be attached to any album, tbh...but sure, it's performance will inform whatever she releases next, it's only natural...

She sabatoged the smash that was meant to happen after her DNC performance. It was supposed to being NBC Olympic exclusive and she broke that deal so NBC dropped the song.
