We can definitely expect better sales for Joanne than for Glory, especially WW. There's just way more hype for the album, as can be seen by MR's performance and PI's first week. They will have similar promo first-week. The only thing lacking is radio exposure. PI will be completely dead by the time the album is released while Make Me was still going strong (relatively :poot:). I think Gaga still has a bigger fanbase too, because PI sold better first-week than Glory in the US with similar promo. PI also had better HAC and AC support than Make Me and I think (tho not sure) that those push album sales better than Top40 radio does.

But we'll see. The VMA performance created quite some hype and that must've boosted sales considerably. Gaga has SNL and I can imagine Gaga's Carpool will get more views so we'll see.

SNL is gonna have massive views from everyone wanting to watch them spoof the debate on Wednesday

I actually think Gaga's Carpool will get a decent amount of views. The GP would definitely want to watch it. They would be like "omg Lady Gaga doing Carpool Karaoke, that must be a crazy one." She's perfect for it!

Kinda embarrassing considering that Make Me is way more GP friendly and had a trendy rapper on it. I'm sure that helped a bit. The PI must video is already about to pass Make Me despite being released 1.5 months later

What do you think gives a bigger boost, SNL or VMAs?

I think VMAs gives a bigger boost for singles while SNL gives a bigger boost for album sales.

And yeah, Make Me underperformed greatly but PI is just collapsing this week, just before album release. Not good - it's time for the second single.

same. I just hope she gets 100k pure sale first week  I'm also 90% sure she's doing either GMA or the Today Show next week, but that probably doesn't give a big boost

I'm pretty sure she won't do either. SNL rehearsals are pretty intensive.

I think she'll do something like Howard Stern though and that should help a little too. Every little bit helps.

Friday we'll be able to see which song should be second single. Maybe it's MR after all. I can imagine it getting good call-out scores but it's a good promo single that should be performed a lot but not sent to radio imo, like Speechless and Hair (and DOPE, failed attempt lol). That way they can push album sales while going for a real hit for second single.
