The attention span of people is getting continuously shorter and people are so quick to jump ship. People forget as fast as you can get their attention. I was surprised that Gaga's video effect lasted so long, I would have expected her to get dark red updates after 12 hours considering the times we live in. Unless you promote your music till the point of physical exhaustion, you can be sure that you'll flop or have a mediocre chart run. The only one that seems to be invulnerable is Adele.
