I think Gaga has the edge right now because 1. She outsold his first week sales by 60,000 in 2013 when their albums were released a few months apart and 2. Streaming is now apart of album sales and Gaga has MUCH better streaming power than Michael. For example, Perfect Illusion has ~12M streams on Spotify and ~13M on YouTube in its first week while Michael's lead single for his album (released a month ago) has ~4M streams on Spotify and less than a million on YouTube. That being said, Michael Buble will likely block her in the UK. His last album opened with 121,000 there while ARTPOP did 65,608 in a similar timeframe.
