If we had to repeat the Gaga/Katy days, Gaga still wouldn't win with 97k, but we have to remember that Katy only got 137k this time around with "Rise." This means Gaga sold about 71 percent of what Katy did. Compare this with the "Applause"/"Roar" mess of 2013. Back then, Gaga opened with around 225k, but "Roar" got a whopping 557k copies. This means that "Applause" initially sold about 40 percent of what "Roar" sold in their respective opening weeks. Truthfully, I myself get tired of the Katy comparisons, but if we use her as a baseline for high sales for a female pop star this year, Gaga may not be leading the pack, but it's not terrible and it's very possible for PI to stay in the game. You're very correct. Honestly, everyone making comparisons the way they are is hard because everyone's sales kinda suck... As I understand it, she's doing decent in that regard. I guess the point I'm making is that we just gotta let things play out. A top 10 is still so very possible. And I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Gaga does not have to be number one constantly to become a pop legend. She needs to be near the top commercially and ahead of the game critically. Gold has been discounted basically its entire chart run. Something tells me Side to Side is staying discounted too. Cold Water's discount might end. I think they wanted it to go #1 this week with those 2 videos but it def ain't happening lol I think they expected it to sell 100k+ this week. She has a great radio update, seems stable on iTunes, and all of these new chart experts already calling her a flop and canceling LG5 You all should have seen how Ellie Goulding's or Tove Lo's promotion looks like tbh. They are literally begging radios to spin their song, and eventually get a TOP 10 hit after 2-3 months. And I know Gaga is bigger than both of them, but they already had hits with streaming , where Gaga was VERY weak before Perfect Illusion. Perfect Illusion will be a hit, just give it time.
