This song certainly has potential in Japan, but Applause was #5 on Japanese iTunes after a week despite no promo. She has less momentum from the previous album this era, but I think that she could make it a stable top 10 hit if she goes to promote there. And can we please debunk the myth that iTunes is irrelevant in Japan. It's relevant. Not the most relevant, but it's relevant. #1 on Japanese iTunes sells about 3k a day. They like the rock vibe, I think. Radio 2 Belgium played it twice, and they played Applause zero times. Other than that PI has gotten only one spin in the whole country so far.
