Britney Opens Up About Anxiety

As someone who has extreme social anxiety (well over all anxiety in general) hearing her open up and talk about it is kind of relieving. I couldn't imagine being pushed into a career as a child and having that pressure of doing something your parents wanted you to do instead of having a decision of your own. I mean I get she probably loves what she's doing but without a doubt I guaranteed at the end of the day the pressure of being the "Princess of Pop" and people constantly bringing up your chartings of when you were younger is hell.

She should retreat instead of doing an album and lots of promo (performances) if she's gonna sterilize it with mechanical choreo and lip-sync...

I'm sure she would rather spend time with her boys and not perform but she's under contract she has to do these things...

Why though, I don't see how her releasing music/starting a new era affects anyone negativity

music is all about enjoyment

Plus, I think it's really pretty brave of her and inspiring to me as a person who suffers from similar issues to see Britney continue working in spite of it.

I mean, yes, she doesn't sing live, but she's living her life and doing her best to remain as normal as possible and I love that.

I applaud her for opening up about this issue. Social anxiety is not talked about enough. I think she should retreat and try to cope with it, instead of releasing new music and then come back, singing a few live songs in smaller venues.

No she shouldn't, she already took a break in 2005-06 and see what happened. She said it herself and her dad said it, Britney is better when she's busy, if she's not she'll have to face her anxiety and it will make it worse, she just has to learn to live with it.

She's even more anxious when people bring up Baby One More Time & Oops, you can see she's embarrassed by these songs but has to perform them to please the fans.
