Tired of the ARTPOP bashing and this was a refreshing reminder that, unlike the overwhelming majority of pop music in the last decade, this album (and Gaga's whole discography) is actually about something more than just sex and seduction. Some fans and critics dismissed ARTPOP as pretentious, when that couldn't be more untrue. The album is very relatable and meaningful, but Gaga respects her listeners enough to not spoonfeed us. It's the title that puts you off. It's a pretentious title for sure it's like calling it "Best Album Ever".

TeenIdle 126,596
This confirms Jewels N' Drugs is meaningless It's a great analysis. I wish more people would see through the mess the media created and realize what a great album ARTPOP is. 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓
FRANK1991 3,329
My problems with ARTPOP wasn't the concept it's purely the sound too EDM like I get tired of the album after multiple listening cos it's so loud and your ear gets exhausted from the experience unlike BTW I can keep the album on repeat Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

prince 4,688
I love the album so much and this theory is spot on it's full of metaphors and it disguises pain with dance but I wonder if Gaga read this theory do you think she'd be like "lol I just threw these songs together and now the fans are tryna find deep, hidden meanings lmao"
SlayGagaloo 16,152
But what about Jewels N' Drugs? 👀 It could mean N-E-Thing-Ah? Over.

I think it should've been either Venus or Gypsy, but ARTPOP makes sense when you consider that it's the first album she's done that's about her reflection on her life as an... artist. Still a misfire title doesn't mean the content should be written off.
hELXIG 43,038
100% my own interpretation right there! This is why I love ARTPOP and think it's a brilliant album. It just seems to have done over many people's heads. The only thing I would add is that Donatella is also satire, and in the song it contrasts how people perceive celebrities like herself and Donatella, and how they actually are in reality. The valley girl sounding parts "check out I'm blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch" is her acting how people think Donatella is. But then she goes on to sing in her normal voice "because she walks so bad, like it feels so good, listen to her radiate her magic, even though she's misunderstood" (by the GP, who think she's a rich bitch bottle blonde) And also ARTPOP is a song about her own personal muse, that thing that inspires her to make her own unique blend of music, that magical feeling of creating something from nothing. It's about art which hasn't been created yet, and how that art could be anything, because it hasn't been made yet, and it's up to her to decide and feel inspired. "A hybrid (of pop and art etc.) can withstand these things" (critics, sales, etc.) Then she sings about how her passion for music and art will keep her going "my heart can beat with bricks and strings" I also see this line as being about how what she creates can make her feel good and bad, in her heart she either feels the beat of music and string instruments, or feels beat/beaten down by bricks. Then she is saying that her art can be whatever she wants, because she hasn't made it yet "my ARTPOP could mean anything" "we could, we could, belong together ARTPOP" she's affirming to herself that art and pop can come together. And she calls that blend, that thing that she does, ARTPOP. I could go on about that song forever. I love it so much. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. AyaKara 2,281
Jewels n' Drugs wasn't listed. The main issue with ARTPOP was that we were given so many songs that we weren't told about, and weren't given the things we were told about. The strange promo, forgotten app, lack of videos, and other things made ARTPOP not live up to its potential. ARTPOP is fine as an album, if a bit underwhelming (from the varying song qualities -- some songs are genius and unique, like Venus, Aura, ARTPOP, while others are just okay, like MANiCURE and JnD), but Gaga's albums are always bundled with an era, and without the era, it's not right. EDIT: I love the contrasts at the end of the album, but I think they would have been better if she an entire album of contrasts to fit along with ARTPOP (which is also a contrast). The end of the album is a strange shift from the first half.

heavymetall0v3r 910
@NewYorkCity Are you sure? Gaga said aura was Telephones sequel.... Dont you think she meant she killed Beyoncé? Her former friend? Left Beyoncé in the trunk of the *** Wagon on Highway 10? The angriest twink on GagaDaily.
