Nicole 1,809
Schoolgirls from more than 30 NSW high schools have been unwittingly targeted by a ****ographic photo-sharing website that police are powerless to stop. The online chat forum, easily found via Google search, features thousands of nude photos of underage and non-consenting school students shared by boys and men who appear to know them. The users request, swap and share nude photos of particular girls from particular high schools. Girls from NSW schools including Wenona, Turramurra High School, Asquith Girls High, Blaxland High School, Wyong High School, Holsworthy High School and John Therry Catholic High School are among those targeted on the site. NSW Police have joined Victoria, Queensland and the Australian Federal Police in investigating the site but they are powerless to pull it down because it is hosted overseas and uses software that allows users to post text and images anonymously. On the site, dozens of threads are divided by region such as Byron Bay, Wollongong, western Sydney, "North Coast Wins", "North Shore Girls" and "sluts" from the Camden area. Regions and schools in Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland are also included. Users request nudes of specific students or specific schools and offer to share or "dump" other nude images in exchange. They refer to nude image uploads as "wins". Some users have hundreds of images and dump them on file-sharing site Volafile, where they disappear after two days. "Come on boys.. post up some wins of [name redacted], you'll be the best bloke if you do," one commenter posted. http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/police-investigate-****ographic-website-targeting-nsw-schoolgirls-20160817-gquo0f.html * The website was shut down after the article was published last week, but the website has since come back online with difficulties arising to shut it down because of overseas hosting. I know it's not "worldwide breaking news" but this issue has affected not only schools in my immediate vicinity, but it's affected people I know and I think there needs to be more awareness spread on these types of threats with the rise of technology and social media in a way that doesn't put blame on young women who are unfortunately victims of such disgusting behaviour by mostly their own peers. This isn't just school boys sharing pictures of their girlfriend with their friends without her consent, this is "trading" pictures with strangers over the internet and putting these girls in danger of being stalked and harassed. Bebe 17,289
Just disgusting. It's sad that this is still the mindset of so many youths. It's a worrying trend that doesn't seem to be getting any better.

How do they get the nudes though? Did they hacked into their computers or did the people shared their nudes with other people and if so, how many girls and boys are we speaking of? It's not like every second person shares nude photos.

littlepotter 76,624
These are the times when I'm thankful my 'middle eastern culture' is more conservative and doesn't encourage people to put nude pictures of themselves on the internet. Men actually respect a woman's body just enough not to dare ask her to send them nudes. But that's backwards and closed minded, right? chaeri pls

It's not like every second person shares nude photos. When the website was first discovered, it was said there were up to 2000 images, but apparently there are more now since the website was relaunched this week. Some photos were simply saved from girls Facebook profiles (e.g. one was of an underage girl showing some cleavage), others were photos that were nudes/sexually explicit photos sent through snapchat or instant messaging, where the receiver either sends them to others (i.e. friends) who then submits it to the website, or they put it on the website themselves. There's been instances that people submit "requests" (e.g. a year 11 blonde, or even a specific person), and someone will actually try and get photos of that girl as some sort of mission. I can't even guess how many boys are involved, probably more than I'm thinking - in my experience of high school in Sydney there is a LOT of misogyny among high school boys, it's crazy but I'd never picture them having that much disrespect to trade pictures with complete strangers. I may be ignorant in that respect. As to you're last statement, idk - the rise of instant messaging/social media - young people explore their sexualities in different ways today, taking pictures of yourself and sending them is very much considered normal. Technically, it's illegal, but it's normal. One of the girls who I know that is affected by this said "literally everyone does it" - she goes to a girls school, as did I. I've done it, in fact I did it when I was really young, not so much in the later years of high school but I did do it. 19 minutes ago, bayonse said: whats the name of the site tho I'm not gonna share the site regardless but I'm gonna hope you're joking lol

nikola 4,342
This is so sad and wrong.....like how can someone put nude pics of someone else on the internet....it's just wrong. But anyways here are some tips for sending nudes. 1.Don't do it if you are underage 2.Send them only to people you TRUST 3.Never show your face in a nude pic or anything that can make people realise it's you. 4.Send it in some safe place,i mean once its sent its not safe anymore but at least do it in the safest place......maybe snapchat....... 5.Do it only if you must to(fro example if you and your boyfriend are not close to each other and you miss each other) 6.Don't do it if you don't need to 7.Before sending it think about it.......because once you press send its gone and there is nothing you can do about it...... Also i am not saying you should send nudes......but if you decide to do it there are some rules...... I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"
