You don't like it and you have every right to do so, but why do keep on trying to convince us how bad it apparently is?

People enjoy the song which is why it is at #1. What do you gain by bashing both the song and artists (and even going as far as insulting their looks)? I seriously want to know.  :duck:

Addison Rae

the poor, poor misguided general public is to blame for this blasphemous move in the pop world. the underrated ARTPOP remains unbothered, unnaffected and still more talented than this catastrophe of a Top 40

A good 60% (or more) in this thread shares my opinion. And who did I insult? Because I said Halsey is NOT pretty? Is that like a big insult by your standards?

And this thread has been created for other people who dislike this song and can't understand why it's successful. If you don't want to talk about why comment? And you're all moral high "what do you gain from this hatred??!!??" , like obviously I don't gain **** like I dont gain **** by saying its good either. This is a discussion forum and im sharing my opinion.

Pointless thread. Obviously the song hit number 1 because it's f***ing catchy. Cute lyrics, summery vibe, dancey instrumental, pop melody. The Chainsmokers are riding a wave of success right now and Halsey's fan base is growing steadily. From my first listen on the day it was released I knew it was going to be a hit.

A better question is: why wouldn't it have smashed?

Pointless Post. The song isn't catchy. The lyrics are horrible, it's trying hard to sound like summer and fails miserably. The instrumental is an annoying repetitive beat. From my first listen one week ago, I knew it was a super boring song and thought it would completely go under the radar.

See how people can have different opinions? Fascinating isn't it?

I've been wondering too  Still can't find the answer

I'm not against simple and fun top 40, I do like listening to catchy songs sometimes. I just don't understand why people like this so much :laughga:

Do you hear that? It's poison.

And you were obviously wrong because it's number 1. This isn't an opinion, this is you finding any opportunity you can to drag the song and the artists. We get it, you don't want it to be #1. You don't like it, fine. But since when does #1 song mean it has to be universally acclaimed? There's been more ridiculous number 1 songs, so why does this obvious hit surprise/upset you? More people have probably said the same or worse things about Poker Face or Born This Way.

From an objective standpoint, is it really that hard to see why Closer is a hit? I explained the formula that led to it's success in my post and all you want to do is go on and on trying to tear it down because you have some deeper issue with Halsey/The Chainsmokers or simple pop songs of this nature in general. Enough whining and negativity, people can't return their streams and iTunes copies just because you decided not to like it. So.. deal with it and move on? :awkney:

Let someone try to discredit Perfect Illusion if it goes #1 and see how you react.  Can't wait. The world doesn't revolve around you and your disapproval of the song. People like it. End of. There's way worse things happening in the world to be mad about than the current number 1 pop song.
