But we don't know if it's Gaga. I personally really doupt it cause Gaga never starts writing a song like that. She's not the only one Kevin has been working with recently.

It's understandable. Large pop forces have massive followings that are willing to follow them wherever they decide to go artistically. Labels are less willing to take risks on people with smaller fanbases because it isn't guaranteed money.

So he's saying hes helping gaga write a POP song rather than an indie/rock song? 

 

Does this mean that gaga isnt going to have  much of a rock sound after all and she is truly making just pop music

It's been regularly reported that Gaga comes up with pretty much all the lyrics and melodies and either attributes her producers as co-writers because they get more royalties that way, or she let's them make suggestions here and there, e.g. RedOne said his only lyrical contribution to Bad Romance was adding the "oh-oh-oh-oh-ooooh".

The way Kevin Parker describes their method of working sounds very different to that, and much more collaborative (that's assuming he IS talking about Gaga).

I would assume she's pretty well versed in collaborative writing since she more or less got her start sitting down with groups of writers and penning for other artists.

I'm quite curious as to why most of you seem to believe that someone he met "days ago" is Gaga. 

1. He has already admitted to working with Gaga on a radio show in Australia and he has no reason to not name her here.

2. Both Kevin and Gaga have known each other since May, at least. 

I don't wish to be rude, but there is a lot of mental gymnastics going on in this thread.

Gaga is a popstar. She is always going to make pop music. But pop is a broad term and can be influenced by all different genres.

Yes i know that but the fact that he said its different than writing for the indie/rock genre makes me wonder if she really is going to be making drastic changes to her sound like we thought she would be, or if she's truly making a pop album with her regular synthpop/dance sound with little rock/disco influences here and there

I hope Gaga hasn't lost confidence in her own writing after ARTPOP. I hope she knows she's one of the most intelligent and creative lyricists/somgwriters in the pop world right now.

idk what makes you think synthpop/dance = all pop

Oh I don't think so.   If anything she's probably expanding her writing skills by having others come in and write with her.    It would be very "indie" if she did it all herself...and she hasn't done that before anyway so I wouldn't worry.
