Earth Like Planet Discovered Only 4 Light-Years Away!

OMG! I've studied Proxima for a long time. It's a red dwarf, therefore if the planet is even the slightest habitable for humans, it will last a long time (billions of years longer than our planet) since Red Dearf stars are the types of stars that last forever (due to their mass being so small: thus less fusion)

Plus, according to theories, intelligent life has the best chance to form around red dwarves, since they last forever basically.

Considering a species to be more advanced than us would mean they would have the ability to travel faster than the speed of light, if that was the case they would have made their presence known as it's such a short distance.

Not when taking into account the theory of relativity, no. Faster may not have been the most precise word to use but I'm sure you understand my sentence either way.

If they are very advanced, they clearly arent hostile otherwise they woulda came here by now and taken our raw materials/resources (Earth has more than most planets)

In the Star Trek series Humans started the "Federation". Its a powerful alliance where dozens and eventually hundreds of species join.

 

But that alliance is based on maintaining peace, order and friendly co-operation with eachother and only going to war when necessairy

 

Hostile species dont get accepted into the Federation

 

In real life, instead of starting an alliance like that, wed actually be among the ones whod fail to get accepted  

 

If intelligent advanced life is common enough i garantee u some alliance like that probably exists in real life and humans aint ever getting in at this rate

Thats what im saying.

 

If there was advanced life (more advanced than us) theres no way they wouldnt have noticed us, we are the next door star system basically no way they wouldnt have realized there was a class of planet here simmilar to theirs

 

If an advanced race did exist there, then either they are #1 indifferent toward us and dont care to come here (not all races may share human curiosity), #2 Have some rule not to interfear with less advanced beings, or #3 They have determined were undesirable to contact which given the mess our society is, its not hard to fathom

 

The more likely probability is either life is super simple there or non-existant

 

Even with right size, star, goldilocks zone etc, earth still relied on many other factors for life such as gas giants to absorb biggest asteroids, a core that produces electromagnetic field to give us additional protection from rays (most planets dont have one)

 

So even among "Earth like planets" in goldilocks zone, id assume life as we know it only occupies a small percentage of them
