After listening to the album, I can say that the rest of the songs sound very forgettable. They sound flat, uninspired, and generic. The single and promo singles were at least somewhat interesting and descent. I think the main problem is that nothing that she sings about feels truly meaningful, and the music is basically what we have been hearing in mainstream radio for the past two years. Add this to the fact that almost none of the choruses are catchy or intriguing. I think is OK if you release trendy songs as long as they are at lest good and memorable. But other than the first single Glory just doesn't have these. and its like ariana grandes album, its all about sex

I say this as a Britney fan and someone who genuinely did not expect another bad album after Britney Jean (although Glory is better). Im sitting with the deluxe version, listening and trying to get more of a feel for it. I think a few of the album cuts are much better than the promo singles (which I truly find horrid, every single one). Invitation is nice as is Just Like Me. A lot of the album falls flat, not as flat as Britney Jean where you literally sit there and dont understand what it is you're listening to. This album at least has a place on pop radio, I get where its coming from. But its also one of the least Britney albums I think shes ever released. Its completely and 100% tailored to sound like everything else without hardly an inkling of what makes a Britney Spears albums a Britney Spears album. And before the "she tried something different" statement comes, the fact that this sound could literally be Selena Gomez or any other number of current pop starlets, I dont agree that she really tried something different. I think she just conformed in a way she hasnt done so blatantly before. Yes Britney has always been and will always be shallow pop, but theres something distinctive about albums like In the Zone, Blackout, Femme Fatale, Oops, Britney....even Circus honestly. While Glory might not be AS abysmal as I thought it was at first listen. Its anything but distinctive. I think most Britney fans have been thirsty for an album that they can actually listen to and its delivered here, but is it that great? Is it one of her best? Not even close. Someone else might be relieved that Just Like Me sounds like something off of Selenas yawn of an album Revival, but im just disappointed that Britney and her team have once again failed to produce something that revinvents her iconically. Glory is a complacent conforming bore in the same vein as Gwens recent disappointment This Is What The Truth Feels Like. Exactly I think Britney is the type where she's as good as her producers, when it comes to making an album. Britney is an entertainer at heart, she takes what the producers and writers give her and takes it to a place we all love and appreciate, the same thing could be said about Rihanna. Artistically we all know Britney is not capable of creating or envisioning a sound for her, an idea is pitched to her and she is in control of whether she wants to take it or not. With Max (martin) he was able to help Britney evolve musically while still showing off her signature sound, when Britney felt it was time to change it up, she worked with the incredible duo Bloodshy&Avant and Danja who contributed to the sound of In The Zone and Blackout. Really if we think about it comes down to 3 or 4 producers whom really crafted and molded Britney's sound and discography. Britney Jean didn't feel like a Britney album cause more or so it was Will.i.am recklessly experimenting. Glory seems to have found better producers but they are still not that experienced with Britney to know how to make a true Britney Spears album. Glory might just be her riskiest album, she artistically experiments on it a lot and I applaud her for that, It truly allows us to view her in a new light. Glory tries to sound diverse and artistic but it's an average attempt, cause things just don't feel as cohesive as they do on Blackout or Femme Fatale. Maybe calling up Max for this album would have been a better idea, his last full album effort 1989 with Taylor gave us amazing pop songs that are far from basic in my opinion. Gaga was very cohesive with BTW. Gaga is all about self empowerment. Tell me that's not a self recurring theme throughout her discography. Britney makes great Sex anthems that somehow sound very innocent and tongue in cheek. Your threads are status worthy. If you're forcing yourself to shut out every other artist besides Gaga, maybe that doesn't really qualify your opinion as relevant. And you can't stand anyone else expressing their opinions on your threads. That is an issue.
