I get exactly what he means because I thought the same thing. Britney and Gwen are both considered to be somewhat "generic" I suppose but usually edgy and distinctive still. But with both Glory and This Is What The Truth Feels Like its like they completely opted out of any individuality and conformed 100% to the sound of pop radio in the same vein as Selena Gomez would. Which to me, is quite a step down for the likes of Britney/Gwen. A lot of the songs on both albums are very same-y and light pop/rnb affairs that dont "climax" so to speak. Theyre both incredibly tame, as if they were holding back from being creative (moreso Gwen imo). But that aside, theres no denying that Glory is MUCH MUCH better than Britney Jean. Coupure Electrique and Better alone give Britney some redemption.

Glory and This Is What The Truth Feels Like sound like they were both "molded" to sound like what's on the radio. I'm not saying they're bad, because I like both albums, but I was waiting for this climax song that never showed up. They both have this chill catchy vibe from start to finish. Give it time and others will hear what I hear. Gaga stans may be critical, but the problem with Britney stans is the opposite, you guys are hyper-supportive and take a minute to notice the flaws (if you even do at all, I see plenty of Britney stans that try to argue the validity of Britney Jean to this day). I keep listening to Glory to get a feel. I dont think either albums are terrible actually, but they're not all that great either. They're very neutral. Not unlistenable but not interesting either. The snippet sounds great but the whole album is completely lacking, and thats the problem with TIWTTFL i think. Each song has 20 sec good part and then the rest seems just.. bland. Even the production is lacking. This is not the case with glory. Yes both albums use 'generic' instrumental, but so does dangerous woman and many other great album. GLory completely utilized it and make it her own. Can you really say 'man on the moon', 'coupure', 'come over', and 'Change your mind' doesn't have individuality? And as for climax, just like lemonade, Anti, and every current album basically the climax is the whole song (except the dance songs like clumsy). Its just a complete body of work. Oh and what ruins gwen's album for me is the production is very messy and the TRANSITION is truly horrible. Ofc thats just me and my thoughts though

Ofc thats just me and my thoughts though Well I compared the two because like I said, I believe they both are examples of a unique pop star resorting to beige conformity and holding back how edgy they could actually be. I think Glory has a few more interesting cuts than TIWTTFL. Coupure Électrique isnt the most original song ive ever heard but I definitely think its more interesting than anything off of Gwens album. Britney has little moments like that here, but for the most part I do not agree that theres enough individuality on this album for it to be miles ahead of Gwens. I think theyre ultimately in the same boat, albeit ones at the wheel and the others hanging out on the dock (terrible analogy but you get me). And totally, these are just my thoughts as well that should go without saying. I think too often people see people post their opinions on forums like this and think theyre trying to state concrete facts. These are just all of our opinions for the most part.
