Whis 2,920 Posted August 19, 2016 Share Posted August 19, 2016 So we are all praying that Gaga will ANNIHILATE all the other attending celebrities and slay us all with an iconic VMA performance, but it would be a bit weird for her to perform the single and then release it 2 weeks later.(It would also be a tragic marketing move) Though, many sources are reporting that she actually IS performing, and that it will be a surprise performance. For example: Perez Hilton is saying that the single will be released just in time for a surprise/not so surprise performance (he calls it that after he spilled this 'tea') at the VMAs (because he is trying to spoil it I think to ruin the surprise). Perez is mostly right about these things. I also find it a bit weird that the single is already announced a month early and that Gaga is already performing it for radio stations. Now, what I think might happen is that the day before the VMAs or on the day itself (or even the night it happens) Gaga will be announced as a surprise performer. After this performance she'll tweet something like: 'SURPRISE!! You can NOW stream PERFECT ILLUSION on Apple Music one week early! #LG5 #PERFECTILLUSIONOUTNOW' (she will also post a link with it). A week later (on september 2) the single will then be officially released on all other platforms! So what do you guys think? Is this thread perfect delusion? Though I think the "surprise" performance announcement will happen a day or two prior to the VMAs to make sure it will impact ratings.
