DiscoHeaven23 35,007
I just came to the realization that there has been a lack of black females on pop radio in the last year. Throughout the whole last year there were only two SOLO black female artists in the top 20 of the pop radio charts They are Rihanna and Ruth B. But even Rihanna didn’t peak at her usual #1 spot, “Work” only peaked at #8 and “Needed Me” is currently at #18. Ruth B.’s song “Lost Boy” peaked at #16. In my ignorance, I assumed that Alessia Cara was black, but she’s actually Italian. I must also mention that there are women of color in Fifth Harmony, but they are part of a five some. None of Beyonce’s songs have charted on the chart. A women who used to always have pop hits. Yes, her sound has changed, but in my mind that shouldn’t make a difference. So why is there less representation of women of color on pop radio now?

Higher 2,406
Most of them usually make experimental/non-radio friendly music judging from some of the women of color I listen to. Finally feeling free for the night, I got no worries. Finally got a claim on my life, baby, c'est la vie. ☄️
