I personally would never be in an incestuous relationship, but I think they should be allowed to do whatever they want, as long as they don't have children together, because that will just **** up it's biology.

1. The argument that older women can also have deformed babies(mentally or physically) is a FALSE equivalency!  Simply because most women hit Menopause in their 40's or 50's, which is why you don't see lots of 60+ individuals popping out babies left, right, and sideways...

2. Comparing this to homosexuality is also a FALSE equivalency, because last time I checked 2 men or 2 women CANNOT have deformed babies or babies period - naturally...

3. INCEST is also inherently detrimental to a species in general.  No scientist will tell you that it is beneficial in anyway, shape, or form!

4. Even though I personally still find homosexual incest gross.  They technically cannot have children biologically speaking, so I have no issue with whatever they decide to engage in with one another(on technical grounds).

5. Some on this thread have said that this specific couple, or even other incestuous couples are not looking to technically have a baby per se.  But accidents do happen, and then what?!  

 

With all that being said tho, I don't think they should be incarcerated for this.  More like they need to go and seek out psychiatric help - ASAP!  But as long as they do NOT reproduce, then they can do whatever they want to.  Weather I, or anyone else agrees with it or not.

Well actually in my country, before a couple agree to marry they take into account family history (including if they are related) and explain to them the consequences. Obviously not all diseases can be avoided, but through incest they are amplified. Do you know what I mean? 

I'm approaching the subject from a medical and statistical perspective, while others might take a more emotional (can't think of another word) approach, which is a good sign of empathy, but reality isn't always the way we want it to be.

If couples in incest relationships want to live a happy life and build a family then that is their choice, since it doesn't even affect me. But say I'm a medical provider, and I had to choose between paying medical bills for an organ transplant surgery or help pay for the medical bills of a child suffering from a life-time physical deformity born from an incest relationship. Then I would favour the former (if I could pick both I would of course). It's wrong to decide between two extremely subjective things, but doctors make similar choices throughout their career as far as I know.

Political philosophers have been debating matters of ethics for centuries and have never come up with a ground solution, so everything I've talked about and my opinions are in a grey area, including your own opinion matter of fact. I'm just taking a quantitative route of reason.

And I simply don't understand what you mean. It may be my not so good English or my lack of sleep but I don't.

The second part is one reason why one is legal and one isn't.

You can ask the question, are you parent and child, and that is a very clear cut question that carries very clear cut risks, and high risks too. It's much harder to gauge the risk a woman has as she ages and that risks include their life experiences. A yogi who eats only vegan and organic is going to have much healthier eggs then an alcoholic smoker. There isn't a clear cut off age.

That's not the only reason incest is illegal, people have grown to be disgusted by the very idea of incest of course. But that's not really what I'm concerned with.

It's a concept called coorelation does not mean causation. 

Straight people who practice those same things are at just a high of risk. Gay people who don't, aren't at that high risk. Nothing to do with being gay.

Of course incest is not at all like gay relationships. The point in comparing the two is that gay couples were said to be unnatural and disgusting, and most arguments were told to gay people.
