Now, I think she is trying something different, a more simpler approach and she is now letting her talent speak for itself. Let's see how this era will change her. There was a time pre-ARTPOP that she definitely did try shocking people with stripping down though. Remember the 2013 vmas red carpet look? We saw how excited she was for multiple projects during the era, all of which crumbled after the Applause fiasco and Troy leaving her. Well I think that look doesn't count since she was wearing garden panties when she performed and I think that's still more as a shock factor than actually just singing. People judged her by what they see first and I think that's the reason why the meat dress is still stuck in peoples heads. Now that she got more rep for her actual singing ability and have more varied audience (young and old) she might want to diversify.
