What was the Q tho?

Do you think there is another #1 song in the US that performed more poorly (overall) than HIAM? POM isn't doing particularly well, but I think it's still not dropping as fast as HIAM did. Edited by Klou

Yeah, HIAM was probably the poorest performing #1 single in a long time. I love the song, though. I can't think of another song, besides POM, that has reached #1 and not passed the 2 million mark at least.

I had a random thought provoked by the Britney talk, but do you guys think HIAM is one of the least successful songs in the history of the charts to ever reach #1? I mean I don't think the song sold more than 1.5 million in the US...

Of the digital era, I can't think of many other #1 songs that haven't sold 2 mil. Touch My Body by Mariah Carey sold 1,459,000 in 2010 and I doubt it grew significantly by now. But it managed to spend 2 weeks at #1. I think Crack a Bottle by Eminem was also one of the worst. It barely sold 2 mil.

Hmm it wasn't one of my favorites, but it did sound like a hit to me. Plus it was released in the prime of dance music... I wonder why it didn't connect with people.

Those are good examples, but at the same time are somewhat not as reliable just purely for the fact they are a little older. I guess it would be hard to answer my question because digital sales keep inflating.

IWG way outperformed my expectations.

I was really shocked when it went #1 on pop and had so much radio backing. It was super radio friendly, though.

Bought Blackout today. Excited to listen. :) Everyone says it's her best album.
