BTW album at #160 on itunes. I wonder what her position in billboard is gonna be, after the increase in sales.

I sincerely hope the album rises once we get to Europe + the perfume commercial.

Omg, Turn to You is #4. It seems official.

It's done so well that it pushed Nicki and Rihanna to 11 and 12, respectively.

Well Beaver has cornered the market on little girl fans so I'm not surprised when anything he releases single or not spikes on Itunes for a day or so.

I agree, One Direction hasn't really been a threat yet. I do see why he's considering collaborating with then though, because they could be a threat.

I wonder if Ke$ha's new album will sound like 'Pretty Lady'?

I love the fact she promoted BTW a whole year, almost every week and release her singles and THEN tour for the second year.

It add longevity to BTW without saturating the radio and media. Tour are one of the biggest promo, the best part of it is that when she tour in a country, you won't necessarily hear about her until she comes in your country, but when she there, it's THE **** with radio promoting the hell out of it. Just look at Japan sales this week, couldn't be a better example.

This tour is actually shaping BTW to be her iconic records IMO and if she would have stopped after the first year, BTW would have been a successful album but I don't think it would have been that memorable for the general audience.

I've never noticed that there's more promotion / radio backing when an artist comes for his tour to Germany. I believe that it hasn't got an impact chartswise at all... I it indeed has in Japan so maybe it also depends on the country. Or the fact that she only plays 3 fcking shows here . There would have been enough fans for at least 7-8 shows.

Can I ask a question: why is Youtube registering blanks for all of Gaga's videos in Germany?

Thanks :)

Really ? Maybe it's cultural.

But here in Quebec/Canada, when an artist comes by, radio are ALWAYS playing week-end special to celebrate a concert and it's all over the newspaper.

But in Canada, we tend to be really welcoming, especially in Quebec where everybody is respectful towards to artists.

For exemple, there's a Festival here an each night after the "big act" (last year is was Elton John), you will always see them on the front page of every newspaper.

Is this just in Canada ? Or we alone doing it this way lmfao ?

I never see an increase in sales or radio airplay when an act plays a show where I live.

I have a question that's been bugging me for so long. It never made sense to me.

Since BTW sold 2.2 Million in the U.S and is 2x Platinum then why are singles like MTN only certified Gold (500,000)?

Marry the Night is on all 2.2 Million copies of the album that were sold here, so wouldn't that count :spin:

No because 2.2M people bought the album not the single.

Thats like saying oh lets certify Bad Kids 2xPlat because the parent album sold 2M :laughga:

That's why singles from strong selling albums aren't on equal playing field with most of their competition.

It's a bigger issue in UK, where pop album sales are stronger and sales count for 100% of charts. That's why Adele SFTTR didn't makle top 10 there.

Oh so you have to download marry the night or any other single separately from the album so it can count as one download to the RIAA? :flop:

Yep. So consequently you will see a major differentiator between album artists and single artists. Gaga sells albums, people like Katy Perry, Britney, Rihanna, among others tend to sell minimal albums as indicated by their first week sales. But their singles tend to do well. Basically it is much more of an investment to spend money on an album than a fun, poppy single.

Interesting. I never knew the RIAA worked that way with singles. Good thing I bought Marry the Night seperately once to help it in it's flopiness :marrytheflops:
