TEOG is Gaga's best song to date. And it could have been bigger than BR. But it was rushed-released, the video was a mess, and the era was cut short.

Had it not been a promo single, had a beautiful epic video depicting the love and tragedy of a mermaid turning human and dying, and more US performances (the only promo it got was Good Morning and Idol), it would have been #1 for weeks.

BB Hot 100 calculations for next week based on 3 days of itunes bars, current airplay and a streaming estimate

#position, sales (000's) + airplay (A.I. millions) + streaming (20Ks) = points*, artist, song, (change on Hot 100)

#1 242 + 192 + 55 = 363 Gotye STIUTK ft Kimbra (=)

#2 291 + 119 + 50 = 331 Carly Rae Jepsen CMM (=)

#3 273 + 123 + 49 = 322 Maroon 5 Payphone ft. Khalifa (=)

#4 136 + 163 + 44 = 261 Fun. WAY ft. Monae (=)

#5 138 + 130 + 33 = 226 Nicki Minaj Starships (=)

#6 128 + 132 + 33 = 220 Flo Rida WO ft Sia (=)

#7 122 + 112 + 34 = 201 One Direction WMYB (=)

#8 141 + 75 + 35 = 186 Justin Bieber Boyfriend (+1)

#9 71 + 121 + 33 = 176 The Wanted GYC (-1)

#10 150 + 75 + 14 = 170 Rihanna WHYB (+1)

#11 263 + 0 + -- = 169 Justin Bieber DIYA (New)

#12 82 + 87 + 28 = 150 Train DB (=)

#13 161 + 50 + 5 = 148 Pitbull BIT (+1)

#14 115 + 71 + 15 = 145 Usher Scream (-1)

#15 53 + 96 + 20 = 130 Kelly Clarkson Stronger (=)

#16 115 + 53 + 11 = 127 Luke Bryan DOY (+6)

#17 100 + 54 + 16 = 123 Karmin Brokenhearted (-1)

#18 86 + 57 + 13 = 114 Eric Church Springsteen (+1)

#19 82 + 44 + 25 = 113 Ellie Goulding Lights (-2)

#20 94 + 40 + 14 = 106 David Guetta + Sia Titanium (+5)

*points = 64% x sales/K + 80% x airplay (A.I. millions) + 5% x on demand streaming/K

Top of chart still rather stagnant though WHYB inching into the top 10

Besides Nicki Minaj, I don't really like any of the songs in top10 Hot100. :eww:

I like the Gotye, Carly Rae, Fun, Nicki and Rihanna (#11) songs ... just so boring we haven't had any new & good hits emerge since February.

this is my frustration. i know it would have charted higher if she would have released a damn decent video for it. you should have saved that floppy video for marry the night. i think it would have suited well. ugghh!!!

Jhony, we don't know what really happened at that shoot.

We can't blame it all on the people involved; I believe fate is involved here, and granted that the Haus is aware that it underperformed and Boomkack is no longer in the Haus, I'm sure they'll deal.

EoG video came out a month after the song, it would have made no great impact either way.

The promo for that era was driven by performances.

Since TFM people here overrate the important of videos.
