Nick 29
I think Scheisse would have performed a lot better as a single, although I personally prefer Marry the Night. Scheisse is more in-tune with the dance music that was on the radio in November. The german though.. people would switch the station asap. That song is too weird for the public to handle, imoI'm curious to see how HML would have performed. The only catchy hook is the chorus, but that chorus is perfection
Eulonzo 51
BAD KIDS!? Yeah OK, let's send the worst song on the album to radio And Hair is just too cheesy for radio. And a song with the title Highway Unicorn being released as a single is just laughable tbh. I remember at New Year, MTV wrote that they couldn't understand why she hadn't release HML as a single, saying it was clearly the best song on the album and should have been sent to radio. That's how most songs like that are. :usrs:
saltface 177
I wonder how MTN would have performed if the video had been song-only length. If it had hit top ten on iTunes when it flew up after the video premiere, the top 10 effect would have probably seen an increase in sales, and the fact it was selling digitally would have resulted in more radio backing. If the video had been shorter so people could actually be arsed to watch it, the song may have hit top ten. Maybe, the video killed Marry the Night Edited May 29, 2012 by andrewsalt
Americano 31,061
The video DID kill Marry the Night. I loved it, but chart wise it didn't do it wonders. That's partly why people like Gaga though. She ignored the marketing side to tell her own story. The fact she's almost gotten 50,000,000 people to watch a 23947828934 minute clip is great. Marry the Night is my favourite Gaga video ever. Just beats Alejandro.

I'm worried Monsters won't let Gaga make a good commercial video that will really HELP her songs without giving it the EoG treatment.

It wasn't the simplicity that made TEOG ****. Just Dance is a simple video but it's better than someone running up and down a staircase for 5 minutes with the shadow of the camera on the wall behind her lmao. I have always preferred her normal length videos. I wouldn't be complaining if she ever ditched the mini movies :)
